Ni**le shields can be a helpful tool for some breastfeeding journeys, particularly when there is ni**le pain, difficulty latching, flat or inverted ni**les, or when babies are born early or are adjusting from bottles to the breast. They can offer a little comfort and support while feeding becomes more established and may help protect sore ni**les during healing. At the same time, they are usually best used as a temporary aid, as some babies may transfer milk less effectively through a shield, which can sometimes affect milk supply or weight gain if not monitored closely. Some babies can also become attached to feeding with the shield, making the transition away from it a little slower. With the right support and gentle guidance, ni**le shields can be a very useful option for many families while they find their rhythm with breastfeeding. But please remember often the less tools we use the easier the feeding journey. Please always aim to address the grass roots issues and seek qualified support.

Too good not to share.
There’s something incredibly powerful about holding your baby skin to skin. From the very first moments after birth, your baby knows your heartbeat, your warmth, your smell and your voice — and being close to you helps them feel safe, calm and regulated.

Skin-to-skin contact supports newborns to stabilise their temperature, breathing and heart rate while also encouraging those beautiful early feeding instincts. Babies often cry less, settle more easily and feed more effectively when they are held close against a parent’s chest.

For mothers, skin to skin helps release oxytocin — the hormone connected to bonding, milk flow and emotional wellbeing. It can support breastfeeding, encourage connection and create moments of calm in the early newborn days.

Even beyond birth, these quiet cuddles continue to matter. Whether after feeds, during naps or in the middle of a hard day, skin to skin is a gentle reminder to slow down and reconnect with your baby.

Sometimes the simplest things are the most powerful 🤍

What’s in Colostrum? Nature’s First Superfood 💛

Colostrum is the first milk your body makes—thick, golden, and loaded with goodness for your baby. Just a few drops are packed with powerful ingredients:

✨ Immunoglobulins (especially IgA) – Boosts baby’s immune system
✨ White blood cells – Protects against infection
✨ Lactoferrin – Fights bacteria and supports iron absorption
✨ Growth factors – Helps develop baby’s gut and organs
✨ Antibodies – Your body’s wisdom, passed on to baby
✨ Vitamins A, E, K – Supports vision, skin, and clotting
✨ Protein-rich, low-fat – Easy for tiny tummies to digest

This is why midwives call it liquid gold. Did you hand express for your little one?
