!!

Building fences on a Gypsy Cob Farm is …. Let’s just say an ‘Adventure’ 🤠

When most people think of fencing, they imagine it’s to keep their Horses in, At Tao Park, our Gypsies have other ideas. To them a new fence is not a boundary but rather,
- A scratching Post
- A massage Chair
- Somewhere to park an enormous fluffy backside while they watch the world go by.
- Or simply a “Challenge Accepted” on how to drive the humans crazy, because let’s be real, this is their world and we all just live in it.

All Jokes aside, Good fencing is one of the most important investments on a horse property. Horses are incredibly strong and curious animals and while our Gypsies are gentle souls they don’t always realise just how much force they are putting on a fence, when having a scratch, being noisy and making sure if anyone around has food that they are sharing.

Strong Posts, quality materials, sensible spacing and a safe design suited to your property are all important factors to help protect horses from injuries and to help the sanity of their owners from constant repairs.

The Team at Tao Park are always hard at work building and repairing fencers to under go the hardest test the fences could undergo - The Gypsy Cob Butt Test’ - If you know.. YOU KNOW!!

“The People make the place” - Let’s take a moment to meet,
✨ Rodney ✨
Rod joined the Tao Park Crew, In February 2026, and absolutely loves the fact that he can learn new skills from working with the team. Rodney also loves that Tao Park opens many doors for him to meet new people and make life long friends.

One of Rodneys biggest passions is to keep “Old Trades Alive” through Leather Work. Durning his time at Tao Park Rodney has attended multiple Leather whip and blacksmithing workshops, each time leaving with a new skill and more knowledge around the trade.

Rodney isn’t shy when it comes to an adrenaline Rush, being Tao Park First ‘Wannabe’ Bull rider.
Rodney’s dream destination is Egypt.

Tao Park is excited to see where the future takes Rodney - Maybe one day we will see our bull rider taking the arena in Egypt 🥇🐂

Leish started with Tao Park back in 2025 and is a true asset to the Tao Park Family.

A little about Leish,
- What do you enjoy most about working at Tao Park?
The atmosphere and the people. I love working outdoors with the horses and being involved in farm work.

- What’s an interest or hobby you have?
Horse riding, plasma art, drawing, and poetry.

- What’s a fun fact about yourself?
I was the NSW State Champion for show jumping! 🏆

- If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I would love to visit Canada to learn more about Native American Indian culture and history.

Ever wondered what it’s like to turn raw steel into something spectacular? 🔥 We’ve been busy in the Tharwa Valley Forge workshops with this group of legends! From mastering the MIG welder to seeing those sparks fly, there’s nothing quite like the satisfaction of building something with your own two hands. Huge shoutout to Rodney Mclachlan Morgan Maggs and david for getting stuck in and showing what’s possible with a bit of heat and a lot of heart.

I realise this is long overdue, but I’m incredibly honoured to have received the Rotary shine award back in July, recognising my work as an employer of people who live with a disability.
