Karen McElroy Naturopath & Mind-Body Counsellor Karen McElroy is a naturopath, holistic mind-body counsellor, speaker and facilitator.

Karen McElroy is a functional medicine naturopath and holistic counsellor specialising in many aspects of health, including women’s and children’s health, digestive disorders, stress management, emotional and mental health. She offers consultations in person on the Sunshine Coast as well as online virtual and telehealth consults.

Karen has over 25 years clinical experience as a naturopath in a

ll areas of general practice and also offers a range of other modalities to support optimal health. These include nutritional medicine, herbal medicine, homeopathy, counselling, meditation and mindfulness practices, biofield tuning, Psych-K and various energy medicine modalities. She also utilises functional testing and other standard blood tests and medical testing where necessary to ensure a thorough assessment and accurate treatment plan.

Karen has always been passionate about supporting the interface between the mind and the body and strives to help unlock the root cause of dysfunction and illness in every client and discover the underlying meaning of illness. She works extensively with stress, chronic fatigue, anxiety and depression through utilising various mindset processes, emotional healing and energy medicine tools.

Karen believes in patient-centred care, respect and kindness and develops a personalised approach that incorporates each individual’s unique situation, background health and personal history.

Been enjoying walking the streets of Amsterdam after a long haul flight and a very busy week. We've been lucky enough to stay with friends in their very cool houseboat. Amsterdam is so fun and full of beautiful architecture and pretty canals. Found some lovely herbs growing wild in cracks in the pavement and love how wherever I go in the world my herbal friends are there to greet me!

Big news in women's health today! 🚨
PCOS has officially been renamed PMOS — Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome — and it's a change that's been a long time coming.
Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) was a name that only told a small part of this complex condition.

After 14 years of planning for this namevchange, which was spearheaded by Monash University researchers, and engaging in input from over 22,000 people worldwide, the new name finally reflects what this condition actually is — a complex, whole-body hormonal and metabolic condition. Not just an o***y problem...because contrary to what you would suspect, you can even have this issue without having ovarian cysts.

The good news? How we treat it doesn't change. I have treated this condition, in all its many guises, for close to three decades in my clinic. Personalised nutrition, herbal medicine, and lifestyle support remain some of the most powerful tools we have.
