What an incredible start to the school holidays it’s been for the SWB Support team!

A road trip with Shaneo to Bendigo to visit some of his family, with plenty of R&B classics blasting through the speakers on the drive there and back, certainly set the tone for an action-packed week.

The days that followed were filled with plenty of fun and opportunities once again by being so lucky to assist Raylene Angela Finnemore with her School Holiday Program to build independence, including cooking sessions, community access, swimming, and other forms of exercise, with everyone embracing new experiences and continuing to work towards their individual goals.

One of the week’s highlights was another early morning adventure to JW Equestrian, which continues to be an absolute favourite amongst our holiday program participants. Seeing the smiles and confidence grow around the horses is something special every time.

If we had to pick an activity of the week though, it would have to be our visit to Worlds Beyond! From the Nerf Gun Battle Arenas to Pixel Play and the incredible VR gaming experiences, every single participant—and even the support workers—couldn’t stop smiling, laughing and having an absolute blast. It was fantastic to see everyone encouraging one another, building friendships and creating memories that will last well beyond the school holidays.

A huge thank you to everyone who has allowed us to play a part of another amazing week. We hope everyone has a safe and happy weekend, and we can’t wait to continue supporting our amazing clients alongside some of the most caring support workers as they keep smashing their goals next week! 💙

Ps - A massive thankyou to Darcy Paige Mckenna for the surprise of the business apparel! Keep an eye out in the community and if you would like to purchase anything please let us know 😊

✨ A Fresh Financial Year & A Fresh Introduction! ✨

As we kick off the new financial year, we thought it was the perfect time to reintroduce ourselves to everyone—both those who have been following our journey and those who are new to SWB Support.

We’re Sam & Darcy, the proud founders of SWB Support, based in Corowa we provide supports upto 150km away in North East Victoria and Southern Riverina in NSW. Our passion is providing genuine, personalised support that helps people live life with confidence, independence and dignity.

At SWB Support, we believe great support is about so much more than completing tasks—it’s about building meaningful relationships, creating enjoyable experiences, and being someone our participants can truly rely on. For us, support is about people first. We understand that inviting someone into your life is a big decision, which is why we place such a strong focus on building genuine relationships. Establishing trust, connection, and compatibility allows us to provide support that feels natural, respectful, and tailored to each individual—because the best outcomes come when you feel comfortable with the people supporting you.

We offer a wide range of supports, including but not restricted to:

A little milestone to start the new financial year—we’ve also received our new SWB Support work apparel! A huge shout out to Darcy, who did an amazing job organising everything. We couldn’t be happier with how it turned out and are proud to wear it while representing our business and the values we stand for.

Whether you’re looking for support for yourself, a family member, or simply want to learn more about what we do, we’d love to have a chat.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us so far—we’re excited for what this financial year has in store and look forward to continuing to make a positive difference in our community.

🎉 1 YEAR IN BUSINESS 🎉

Twelve months ago, I took a leap of faith and started this business with plenty of uncertainty. Like most people starting out, I questioned whether I could establish myself, whether people would believe in what we were building, and if ultimately it would succeed or fail.

Looking back now, I can honestly say the growth, support, and progress we’ve experienced has exceeded anything I could have imagined. While we’re incredibly proud of how far we’ve come, we know this is only the beginning.

It certainly hasn’t all been smooth sailing. We’ve faced challenges, experienced some difficult periods, and unfortunately witnessed some of the uglier sides of business and life. At times it has been disappointing, but every setback has taught us something valuable. We choose to find the positive in every negative situation, and each challenge has helped us come out the other side stronger, wiser, and even more determined.

One thing that will never change is our values. We will always stand by what we believe is right, we will never compromise on the quality of support we provide, and we won’t shy away from calling out poor behaviour when we see it.

Most importantly, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to the families who have trusted us to support their loved ones. That trust is something we never take for granted and hold very close to our hearts. It is what drives us every day to ensure that every moment spent together makes a positive difference in their lives. Helping improve the day-to-day lives of the people we support is something we genuinely pride ourselves on delivering.

To everyone who has supported us, encouraged us, worked alongside us, and believed in our vision over the past 12 months — thank you.

Bring on the next 12 months. 🚀

It’s been a busy fortnight since returning from our family holiday in Cairns, and it has been so good catching up with our participants and hearing all about the goals they’ve achieved and what they’ve been working towards.

To finish off the week just gone, we spent a fantastic morning at Bounce before heading to Gum Tree Pie Bakery for lunch, followed by a nice walk around Sumsion Gardens and some fun at Belvoir Park. To finish the week yesterday afternoon we had plenty of time spent tackling the parkour course, which was a hit! We also got to explore Worlds Beyond in Lavington, where we stepped into the VR world — such an awesome experience and a very cool feeling.

Over the past two weeks since being back, we have experienced our biggest increase yet in demand for our supports and services. It has been incredibly humbling, and because of this growth, we’ve also been able to welcome another support worker to our team — stay tuned as we’ll be introducing them over the coming weeks.

Once again, we are incredibly grateful and honoured that families continue to place their trust in us to support their loved ones and help them work towards achieving their goals. We truly appreciate every family and participant who allows us to be part of their journey . If you or a loved one are in need of support feel free to reach out as we will always go the extra mile to suit the clients need❤️

We kicked off the day bright and early in Yarrawonga, starting with a light walk along the lake and soaking in the perfect morning conditions 🌅

From there, we ventured out to Bundalong for some morning tea, followed by shooting a few hoops and enjoying some active time together. Still making the most of the pristine weather, we jumped on our push bikes and took in the beautiful views around Lake Mulwala 🚴‍♂️

For lunch, we headed across to South Corowa and enjoyed a relaxing break down by the Murray River, followed by some well-earned downtime at the Corowa Lagoon before making our way back to Yarrawonga.

A perfect way to start the long weekend 🙌

With the annual Good Friday Appeal taking place, it was great to see our first responders and volunteers out shaking tins and supporting such an important cause. We hope everyone was able to contribute in some way—every donation truly makes a difference.

From our own personal experiences as parents, we know how fortunate we are, especially when compared to the stories we hear. Now, being fully immersed in the support work community, it makes us even more grateful to be part of an industry where we can positively impact someone’s day, week, month, or even year ❤️

Enjoy your Easter, stay safe, and look after one another.

Finally, some sunshine! ☀️

We made the most of the beautiful weather this week, starting our day with a stop in Rutherglen for some morning snacks, followed by a relaxing walk around Lake King. It was the perfect way to kick things off and enjoy the fresh air.

From there, we ventured into Wodonga and were lucky enough to have the entire Bounce facility to ourselves! Plenty of laughs, smiles, and energy as our client made the most of the trampolines — moments like these are what it’s all about.

Next stop was Albury, where we enjoyed lunch at the ever-beautiful Noreuil Park. Once we had refuelled, we headed off on another walk along the Murray River, soaking up the sunshine and making the most of the great outdoors.

To top off a fantastic day, we hit the road back to Yarrawonga with some classic AC/DC blasting — the perfect soundtrack to finish things off.

As we head into the Easter period, we’d like to wish everyone a safe, relaxing, and fulfilling long weekend. 🐣

We are currently fully booked over the school holidays and right through to the start of May. However, if you or someone you know is looking for genuine, caring, and community-focused support from May onwards — where no two days are ever the same — we’d love to hear from you.

We’re passionate about getting out into the community and making a real difference in our participants’ day-to-day lives, one day at a time.

Feel free to reach out to chat about how we can support you.
