And in true Bianca fashion, I still forgot…
Somehow, in the middle of moving house, running a shop, being a mum and generally trying to keep all the plates spinning (while my head was spinning), I completely forgot that we turned 9 last week.
NINE YEARS! 🥹
So here we are — slightly late, slightly chaotic, but very, very grateful.
Nine years of welcoming deliveries, unpacking boxes, changing displays, ordering stock, helping people remember what they actually came in for, and occasionally wondering what on earth I was thinking starting a business 😆
Let’s be real, there have been some really tough years. Rising costs, changing habits, global pandemics, health struggles, quiet seasons, busy seasons, the endless juggle of trying to run a small independent business while also having a life and a family. But there have also been nine years of something pretty special.
A little shop that has grown into a community.
A place where you can buy your groceries, fill your jars, discover something made by a local producer, grab your favourite supplement, talk to someone who actually cares about your health, have a chat at the counter, or simply bump into someone you know.
We’ve always tried to be more than just a health food shop. We want to be a genuine alternative to the big supermarkets — supporting local growers and makers, stocking products we believe in, and doing our best to keep things interesting, useful and accessible.
And none of that happens without the people around us.
To my team — thank you 🫶🏽🫶🏽 For showing up, looking after our customers and keeping things moving.
To our suppliers, growers, producers and makers — thank you for helping us fill the shelves with things worth buying and for sticking with independent retailers like us.
And most importantly, to you.
The customers who have been here since the beginning.
The ones who wandered in once and somehow became regulars.
The locals who choose to spend their money with us.
The holidaymakers who come back every year.
The people who tell their friends about us.
The ones who notice when we change something, or give us feedback about how we can better serve you.
