To our beautiful community and loyal guests,
We want to let you know that Phillip Island Sauna will be temporarily closing from 11 May.
This hasn’t been an easy decision. Ongoing discussions and considerations around safety, compliance, and our duty of care at the Jetty Shed have made it increasingly difficult to operate with the consistency and confidence we need. The uncertainty around being able to operate reliably has taken a real toll on us.
This decision is ours. We’ve reached a point where we need to step back and reset so we can continue in a way that feels safe, sustainable, and clear for everyone involved.
After being featured on TV, included in Melbourne tourism guides, and welcoming guests who have travelled to Phillip Island just to experience our sauna, we are incredibly proud of what has been created here.
We were also honoured to receive the People’s Choice Award at the Bass Coast Business Awards — a reflection of the amazing support from our community.
Over the coming weeks, we’ll also be heading to New Zealand to connect with sauna operators and learn from places where sauna culture and operations are well established and supported. We’re excited to learn, reflect, and bring back new ideas for the future.
This isn’t the end — just another reset.
We’ll be taking time to regroup and explore what the next chapter looks like for us. In the meantime, we’ll continue running pop-up saunas so gift cards can still be used and our community can stay connected with us.
