🌍Feeling overwhelmed by the world right now? You're not alone. Sometimes, it's not just your own stress; it could be empathic distress. Here are a few more practical things you can do to navigate these feelings:
Self-Compassion: Start by being kind to yourself. It's okay to feel overwhelmed. Recognise your emotions and acknowledge them without judgment.
Limit Exposure: It's essential to stay informed, but constant exposure to distressing news can take a toll. Set boundaries for your media consumption to protect your mental well-being.
Reach Out: Talk to someone you trust. Sometimes, sharing your feelings with a friend or family member can help lighten the emotional load.
Give: If you can, donate money to causes that are actively helping the local situation. Money is energy in action.
Use your tools: Practice mindfulness techniques to stay grounded in the present moment. Meditation and deep breathing exercises can be effective tools.
Self-Care: Prioritise self-care. Take time to do activities that bring you joy and relaxation. It could be as simple as a walk in nature, reading a book, or enjoying a favorite hobby.
Seek Professional Help: If your distress is persistent or affecting your daily life, don't hesitate to reach out to a mental health professional for guidance and support.
Use Natural Medicine: Utilise calming herbal teas, flower essence remedies, essential oils and more to support your nervous system.
Remember, you're not alone in these feelings, and it's perfectly okay to seek help and support when needed. Together, we can navigate these challenging times with empathy and resilience.
I don't want to bypass what is going on in the world - there are many people speaking about this. My focus is on cultivating peace at an energetic level as that is where I can actually feel like I can help. One day, when every human on planet earth realises we are all connected, we won't need to have wars.
Peace begins within ourselves.
