MYTH: “I can still hear sounds, so my hearing must be fine.”

FACT: Hearing loss doesn’t always mean sounds disappear. You may still hear someone talking but find it difficult to understand exactly what they’re saying—especially when there’s background noise.

You might notice it more when:
• Dining at restaurants
• Chatting in a group
• Attending meetings
• Spending time at family gatherings
