WHAT A DAY ❄️🥳

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came to yesterday’s Breath & Ice event.

What a crew 🫶 I’m so grateful for you all.

We had such a special afternoon - that Breathwork session was so BIG 🤯 and all of you took to the ice like absolute pros.

The reconnect you may not know you need.

I didn’t.

So many parts of modern life make us completely disconnect from our body, or even worse – become enemies with it.

Anxiety does this. Illness does this.

We can feel like our body is working “against us”.

our body seems to be doing things that we don’t want it to do. Things that make us unhappy. Things that impact our quality of life.

The result is we end up not trusting our body.

When our body goes to do something, we go to battle against it.

Even very normal human behaviours, our immediate response can be to go to battle with our body.

“ don’t cry”

“ stop shaking”

but what if our body is actually our best friend?

What if our body knows exactly what it needs to do to make you feel the absolute best that you can.

To process things so that they don’t have to linger and create problems.

This is a beautiful gift that Breathwork gives you.

It reconnects you with your Bestie.

So much beauty happens in Breathwork when we can completely trust the body and let it do what it needs to do.

The feeling that comes from that – proper peace. Proper relief. Real joy. True happiness.

As hard as it can be to understand sometimes – even when it’s uncomfortable – our body is always trying to either tell us something or heal something.

Our anxiety can be our greatest teacher. It’s telling us that something is not okay.

Aches. Pains. Illness. Inflammation.

That’s our body trying to tell us something.

With Breathwork, we get to work with our bodies to process emotions, stress, trauma, out of the body so that we can be free of it.

The body knows the way, and Breathwork is the switch that turns off the Monkey mind so the body can do what it needs to do.

Last November 🙏 Getting to meet the man who got me into Breathwork & Cold Exposure himself

Day 1 - we did a 7min ice bath (you can see the awesome Blanche D’Alpuget who did it at 81yrs of age …. So - yes you can do it)

Day 2 - we did a 10min ice bath.

BTW BOTH of these ice baths had tonnes of ice in them. The coldest ice baths I’ve done.

What’s the point of it all? Well for a bit of personal anecdotal evidence. My whole life since my teens, every single month I get 1-2 days of pretty excruciating menstrual pain, needing to take strong anti-inflammatories to function. When I went strict vegan 8yrs ago this eased massively but was still there.

3wks post this weekend was the first time in my life I had absolutely ZERO pain. Nothing. That’s 3wks after 2 days of ice baths.

That is extremely powerful reduction in inflammation. That’s just one personal gauge that I was able to use but imagine what was happening internally!!!

Seeing as we know that inflammation drives chronic disease, cancer, autoimmune diseases, depression, that alone gets me completely SOLD on regular cold exposure.

The COOL 😎 new finding Wim was talking about over this weekend is that they now know that ice baths activate our CIRBP gene - also known as our longevity gene. We can switch it on!! By getting into ice water!!

What I loved about the 7 & 10min ice baths is the mental reason why we do it.

You can control your mind. Your response. Your body.

You get into cold water like that and your monkey mind is just telling you to get out. But - stop. Slow down. You can control that!! Your body wants to hold its breath. You can control that! Long slow deep breaths. Just come back to the breath. Long slow deep breaths.

All of a sudden. I’m fine. I’ve got this. We’re all chatting and laughing and - this feels easy.

Until it doesn’t again 🤣 …. Long slow deep breaths. Long slow deep breaths. Then again - you’ve got this.

What’s happening here? We’re learning that we can choose to stay calm under stress. That translates to all stress we encounter. We’re building resilience. We’re learning that we can control our physiological res
