Something exciting is coming to SASHC 🤍

From the 1st of July, we’ll officially be delivering our Empowering Tiny Talkers program through the South Australian Government’s Preschool Boost Menu.

This means eligible Early Childhood Education (ECEC) services can access speech pathology support within their preschool setting, with no cost to services and no fees for families.

Our approach will go beyond working one-on-one with children.
✨ Children are supported through play-based, in room sessions
✨ Educators are guided with practical strategies they can use every day
✨ Families are involved with simple, real-life ways to support communication at home

Because communication support works best when it’s consistent across preschool, home, and everyday life and that’s exactly what this program is designed to do.

From cleaning headphones and preparing toys and books for our little ones, to calibrating the VROA system and testing all equipment. Every step helps ensure we’re ready for the day ahead. 🧸📚

VROA (Visually Reinforced Orientation Audiometry) is a hearing assessment designed for children who are still too young for traditional headphones and response buttons. Sounds are played through speakers on either side of the room, and when a child hears the sound and turns toward it, they’re rewarded with a fun cartoon on the screen ✨

It’s all about making hearing assessments engaging, comfortable, and accurate for little ears 🤍
