Trish McIntosh - Flow Well for Life

Trish McIntosh - Flow Well for Life I help women who are exhausted from doing everything for everyone & feel unappreciated & disconnected from themselves. Trish is a Reiki Master.

Through Life Coaching, NLP & Reiki I help them stop over-giving, set healthy boundaries & choose themselves without feeling guilt. Trish McIntosh is a Life Coach and NLP Practitioner who is passionate about helping people break free from overthinking, self-doubt, and the patterns and habits that keep them stuck. After more than 30 years in the corporate world, Trish felt a strong pull to move into

more meaningful, people-focused work. This led her to train in coaching, NLP (neuro-linguistic programming), and energy healing, and to ultimately step away from corporate life to fully support others in creating change in their own lives. Trish’s work focuses on helping clients gain clarity, shift limiting beliefs, emotional blocks and move forward with confidence and direction. Her approach is supportive, intuitive, and practical—creating a space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to take action. She holds a Master Practitioner qualification in NLP and is completing her Mastery in Coaching. While her primary focus is coaching and NLP, Trish also integrates energy work where appropriate and offers Reiki as a complementary or standalone service. Trish works with clients 1:1, offering sessions designed to help them get unstuck, reconnect with themselves, and create meaningful, lasting change.

I think many women become exhausted not because they're weak, but because they've been strong for too long.

Strong enough to:

- keep going
- hold everything together
- carry everyone else's worries
- manage the household
- support family members
- survive difficult situations
- keep functioning no matter what life throws at them

For a long time, I thought exhaustion was just part of life.

I pushed through it. Kept going. Told myself things would settle down eventually.

But looking back, I wasn't just physically tired. I was carrying years of responsibility, pressure, stress, and emotional weight.

And I know I'm not alone in that.

I think many women become so used to being "the strong one" that they stop noticing how much they're carrying until their mind or body starts telling them otherwise.

Sometimes exhaustion isn't a sign that you're failing.

Sometimes it's a sign you've been carrying too much for too long.

Healing often begins when we stop expecting ourselves to carry it all alone.

One of the hardest things I had to learn was that choosing myself wasn't selfish.

For a long time, I believed that everyone else's needs should come first.

I was the helper.
The fixer.
The responsible one.

And somewhere along the way, I started to believe that looking after myself was something I would do later, when everything else was done.

The problem was that "later" never came.

There was always another problem to solve.
Another responsibility.
Another person who needed something.

What I've come to realise is that constantly putting yourself last doesn't make you a better person. It just leaves you exhausted.

You are allowed to have needs too.
You are allowed to rest.
You are allowed to say no.
You are allowed to choose yourself sometimes without feeling guilty about it.

That was a lesson I had to learn the hard way. And honestly, I'm still practising it.

One of the unexpected parts of reconnecting with yourself is realising how many little things you stopped allowing yourself to enjoy along the way.

Simple things.
Quiet things.
Things that once made you feel like you.

For me, healing hasn’t just been about processing the hard stuff.
It’s also been about rediscovering:
• what makes me feel calm
• what brings me joy
• what I actually enjoy doing
• what feels aligned for me now, not 20 years ago
• who I am underneath all the roles and responsibilities

And honestly, sometimes it starts very small.
A quiet coffee.
Music you forgot you loved.
A walk without rushing.
Saying what you actually think.
Doing something because you want to.

I think reconnecting with yourself is often less about “finding” who you are, and more about returning to the parts of yourself that got buried underneath survival mode.

If this resonates, I share more reflections like this here.

I didn’t realise how disconnected from myself I’d become until someone asked me a very simple question:

“What do you want?”

And I didn’t know the answer.

Not because I didn’t have opinions.
Not because I lacked intelligence.
But because I had spent so many years focused on everyone else’s needs that somewhere along the way, I’d stopped asking myself what I wanted.

I was so used to being:
• the responsible one
• the strong one
• the helper
• the fixer
• the one who held everything together
that my own needs had slowly disappeared into the background.

I think a lot of women live like this without even realising it’s happening.

You become so focused on coping, surviving, helping, giving, managing, supporting, and keeping the peace that eventually you lose connection with yourself.

And one day you realise:
“I don’t even know who I am anymore.”

That realisation can feel confronting. But it can also become the beginning of coming home to yourself again. It was for me.

Before the new week begins, Take a moment to check in with yourself.

Not your to-do list.
Not everyone else’s needs.
You.

How are you really feeling?

What do you need more of this week?
And what do you need less of?

Small moments of awareness can create powerful shifts over time.

Sometimes people seek coaching because they feel:

- stuck in the same patterns
- mentally overwhelmed
- disconnected from themselves
- held back by self-doubt or overthinking
- unsure why they keep repeating the same cycles

Often, it’s not a lack of intelligence or motivation.
It’s the internal patterns, beliefs, and emotional responses running quietly beneath the surface that keep people feeling stuck.

This is where transformational coaching and NLP can be incredibly powerful.

By bringing awareness to those patterns, people can begin creating meaningful shifts in how they think, feel, respond, and move forward in life.

The goal isn’t becoming a different person.
It’s reconnecting with the version of yourself underneath the stress, fear, conditioning, or overwhelm.

If you’ve been feeling stuck lately, sometimes a supportive conversation is the first step toward change.

Sometimes people reach out for Reiki because they feel:

- emotionally exhausted
- mentally overwhelmed
- disconnected from themselves
- stuck in stress or overthinking
like they’ve been holding it together for too long

You don’t need to wait until things completely fall apart before receiving support.

Healing and support can also be preventative. It can simply be a space to breathe, reset, and reconnect.

If you’ve been feeling out of balance lately, I’m always happy to chat about whether Reiki may be supportive for you.

Gentle reminder for today:

You do not have to carry everything all at once.

What’s one thing you could give yourself permission to let go of this week, even temporarily?

A few years ago, my world looked very different.

My background was in accounting, finance management, and business administration, which were structured, analytical, and fast-paced environments.

Now, my work focuses on helping people reconnect with themselves and transform their lives through coaching, mindset work, and emotional wellbeing.

And honestly, both paths taught me something valuable.

One taught me how people function under pressure.
The other taught me what people truly need underneath it.

These days, I’m passionate about helping people find more balance, clarity, calm, and flow in their lives.

Sometimes the biggest career shifts begin with listening to what no longer feels aligned.
