🔥🔥 Registrations are now open for our next round of S.T.E.P starting 9 June! ✨

Supported to Thrive in Early Parenthood (STEP) is a 6 week FREE early parent program for Mums & their Bubs aged between 1 - 6 months.

STEP is facilitated by Nat Gray RN/CHN/IBCLC from Milk & Kindness, who has both a long term lived and professional experience supporting families in the Pilbara.

STEP is a program that prioritises creating connections & joy in early parenthood at a time when the outside ‘noise’ can feel pretty judgy and overwhelming. At STEP we gather in a judgement free space, having evidence-based conversations with local health professionals, whilst also sharing our own experiences with courage and honesty.

The STEP program sessions cover a range of parent requested topics including, postpartum recovery and returning to exercise, tips for adjusting to parenthood, infant development & milestones, managing sleep & settling with your little one, potential feeding challenges, support options for partners, and raising awareness about maternal and family mental health & wellbeing.

STEP is made possible with generous funding from Regional Development Australia’s (RDA) West Pilbara Communities for Children (WPCFC) grant & the Dampier Community Association (DCA).

If you’d like to our upcoming round of STEP commencing on Tuesday 9 June click the link in our bio to secure your spot. Spaces are limited!

🌰🌰 ‘Sisters not Twins’ is a reassuring gem I would share every day in my role as an IBCLC. So I thought it was time to get my custom-made knitted b***s out here to make that point 🌸🌸

Have you noticed your breasts can vary in size, shape, and even nips can look super different from each other, never more obviously than when they start making milk for our baby 🤱

This ‘uniqueness’ might mean that one is something of an ‘overachiever’ and the other an ‘under performer’ in comparison. This variation is mostly due to our bodies rarely being symmetrical but can also emerge because our Bub has a fave side. This difference can also mean differences in breast size, milk making tissue, milk volume & storage capacity, and the way that milk releases during a breastfeed or pump. SO Is this ok?

🌰 If Bub is latching comfortably for Mum?
🌰 Settled when feeding?
🌰 Gaining weight? Then absolutely yes!

If you have concerns though or have noticed a sudden change or variation in your breasts or bubs breastfeeding, then always reach out for qualified guidance and support

Credit: Big thanks as always to my friend Sue for knitting my ‘sisters not twins’ b***s back in 2021 ✨💕

Working as an IBCLC, is one of the most fulfilling jobs imaginable for me. With one of my all time fave opportunities, meeting & guiding expectant parents about lactation & breastfeeding before they’re in the thick of early parenting with their newborn ✨🤱

Whilst 1:1 sessions are super popular, many couples will opt for group education and tbh, I have seriously missed not yet having the chance to run a face to face small group antenatal class in 2026.

I think it’s time Pilbara Preggies!!!
So tell me what M&K group education you’d prefer?

⭐️ Our OG Preparing to Breastfeed Masterclass
OR
⭐️ Our trailblazing, one of a kind seminar for the Dads to Be ‘Blokes,Babies & Breastfeeding’?

Way back Wednesday my Matrescence! 💝

This week our family have had the joy of celebrating the precious soul who made me a Mum 30 years ago ✨🥹

My Matrescence has defined and transformed me in countless, surprising ways especially in its duality.

Leaving me…

Soft and strong
Grateful and tested
Fulfilled and tired
Present and stretched
Confident and fearful

Motherhood has been and still is my biggest test (aaaand I know I haven’t always ‘got it right’!) but you have been my greatest teacher. Thank you for choosing me. It is an absolute wonder and privilege to be your Mum x

Happy 30th birthday, my beautiful boy 🤍🤍🤍

📣 Registrations are going live on March 15 for our next round of S.T.E.P Early Parent Group! 🪴🌸

STEP (Supported to Thrive in Early Parenthood) is a 6 week funded early parent program for Mums with Bubs (1-6mths) living in Karratha & surrounds.

STEP is hosted by local IBCLC/RN Nat Gray, who has many years living locally, raising 2 Pilbara born ‘babies’ and working with little families in the West Pilbara

Our families in rural, remote communities are less likely to have family support or access to services in their early parenting years and that the challenges of raising a little one without a village can be difficult and isolating. That’s where our STEP program can shine a light and give new parents the opportunity to gather in a safe and inclusive space, immersing themselves in evidence-based conversations with local health professionals whilst having the opportunity to share their own parenting experiences warts & all.
STEP = feeling seen in early motherhood ✨💞

STEP parent group is made possible with generous funding from Regional Development Australia’s  (RDA) West Pilbara Communities for Children (WPCFC) grant & the Dampier Community Association (DCA). For that we’re truly grateful 🙏

If you’d like to join us for our upcoming round of STEP commencing Tuesday 31 March, click the link in our bio to secure your spot. Spaces are limited 🌿🩷
