⭐ Understanding NDIS Core Funding

In our previous post, we introduced the three main NDIS funding categories. Today, let's take a closer look at the first one: Core Funding.

One of the most common questions we hear is, "What is Core Funding?"
Core Funding is designed to help participants with the everyday supports they need to live more independently and achieve their goals.

It may be used to support things like:
🏡 Daily living assistance
👥 Community participation
🚗 Transport supports
🛍 Consumables
🤝 Support worker assistance

One important thing to remember is that many Core supports are flexible. Depending on your NDIS plan, you may be able to use your Core Funding across different Core support categories to best meet your needs.

Understanding how your funding works can help you make the most of your NDIS plan and ensure you're receiving the supports that are right for you. If you're unsure about your funding or would like help understanding your plan, our friendly team is always happy to help.

⭐️ Understanding Your NDIS Funding

One of the most important parts of your NDIS plan is understanding what each funding category is designed for.

Your plan may include funding across three main categories:

🏡 Core Supports: Helps with everyday activities and the supports you need in daily life.

📈 Capacity Building Supports: Helps you build skills, increase independence and work towards your long-term goals.

🦽 Capital Supports: Funds higher-cost items such as assistive technology, equipment and home or vehicle modifications.

Each participant’s plan is different because it’s based on their individual goals, needs and circumstances. Understanding the purpose of each funding category can help you make informed decisions and get the most out of your NDIS plan.

💡 Remember: If you’re ever unsure about what your funding can be used for, don’t guess, ask your Support Coordinator, Plan Manager or provider. Having the right information can make a big difference.
