It was so special to see our North and South communities come together for a day of connection, laughter and new friendships 💛

What started as a simple idea from one participant grew into a wonderful shared experience, bringing together over 100 people from across The Bridge’s locations. It was all about meeting new people, reconnecting, and celebrating together as one community.

Even with a quick change of plans thanks to the weather, the day didn’t miss a beat. From games and activities at the local park to an indoor BBQ, ice cream and a disco that many called the highlight, it was a day full of smiles, fun and meaningful moments 🎉

A big thank you to everyone who made the day so special. We’re already looking forward to the next catch up in Dandenong and welcoming even more new friends 🌱

It’s National Reconciliation Week 🤝

During National Reconciliation Week, The Bridge acknowledges and celebrates the rich cultures, histories and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We remain committed to fostering an inclusive environment grounded in respect, understanding and equality.

Held each year from 27 May to 3 June, National Reconciliation Week marks two significant milestones in Australia’s reconciliation journey: the 1967 referendum and the High Court’s Mabo decision.

This year’s theme, All In, calls on all Australians to commit to reconciliation every day. To learn more, find an event, or explore ways to get involved, visit Reconciliation Australia:https://ap1.hubs.ly/y0TkFB0

The Bridge Works Northside Making a Clean Impression ✨

This month, The Bridge Works Northside proudly commenced a new project for CleverPak Connect. The Laundry Sheets Rework involved unpacking master boxes containing products with outdated labels, removing old packaging slips, and repacking into new master boxes.

To support quality and efficiency, the team established a production line process and created opportunities for skill development across the job.

Aaron became the go-to team member for assembling the new packaging slips. Evan took the lead in breaking down old slips for recycling. Harry mastered the construction of new master boxes for palletising. 💪

Through strong teamwork and the dedication of the entire Thomastown team, the process remained efficient, organised and highly productive. In just four business days, the team completed all 3,792 units.

An outstanding result on a brand-new project. Well done to everyone involved. 👏

It’s National Volunteer Week 🙌

This year’s theme, ‘Your Year to Volunteer’, recognises the valuable contributions of volunteers and encourages people across Australia to make 2026 a year of meaningful involvement in ways that work for them.

Volunteering is not only about giving back. It is also about building meaningful relationships that enrich lives and strengthen communities.

This week, we also want to thank the incredible volunteers at The Bridge. Your time, energy and compassion make a real difference, and we are deeply grateful for everything you do. 💙

Crafted with Care 🔨☕

Our Cranbourne Day Program Woodwork Group has been hard at work creating a beautiful, handcrafted coffee table for the service centre!

Throughout the project, participants developed practical woodworking skills including sawing, sanding, and staining, while also learning the value of patience and attention to detail in the finishing process.

We are so impressed with the final result and incredibly proud of the teamwork and creativity shown throughout. Fantastic work everyone! 👏

A simple step that makes a real difference. 💙

Recently, our Mow & Mend Team installed Share the Dignity period pack dispensing units at The Bridge Works, providing our supported employees with discreet, dignified access to period packs whenever they’re needed.

It’s a small but meaningful way we’re creating a more inclusive, supportive workplace because everyone deserves to feel comfortable and be able to bring their best self to work.

A big thank you to Share the Dignity for these awesome dispensing units!
