For so long we were told a competitive story. Then it became a power story. But perhaps the truth is quieter: it’s a story about communication, connection and union.

💚 For me, there is something profound about remembering that life begins in relationship.

❌ Myth: “If it wasn’t that bad, it shouldn’t still affect me.”

💛 Truth: Your nervous system doesn’t measure events by comparison; it responds to overwhelm.

So many people minimise their own experiences because “others had it worse,” or because they fly under the radar as small accumulations.

But trauma is about whether your system felt supported, resourced, and safe at the time of hurt, rather than ranking suffering.

This could look like a series of small dismissals, or growing up needing to be ‘the strong one.’

These experiences can shape your nervous system just as powerfully as a single major event.

If something still lives in your body, it matters - because it was impactful to you.

You don’t need to justify your pain to deserve healing. 🌿

When I need to regulate, I return to simple things:

💛 Enjoying nature
💛 Moving to music
💛 Being with my dog Sage - her calm presence reminds my body how to settle.

Letting what I’ve been holding integrate.

Regulation doesn’t have to be complicated.

What brings your system back to itself?

♉️This year, on May 16, the Ta**us New Moon aligns with one of the most mysterious and powerful stars in our night sky: Algol.

⭐️Often associated with hardship, intensity, and transformation, Algol invites us to look beyond fear and into the wisdom that exists on the other side of it. Rather than something to fear, perhaps Algol is a guide —

☄️💫Connected to the myth of Medusa, Algol carries themes of protection, rebirth, feminine power, and profound transformation. It reminds us that we are capable of rising again and again through every challenge life places before us.

⚡️Maybe it is not the easy seasons that shape us most deeply, but the moments that test us.

🌚🐂Under this Ta**us New Moon, sit with these questions and notice what arises:
• What feels uncomfortable to face or feel?
• What fears are asking to be acknowledged?
• What strength is awakening within me?

🙊💕This New Moon is also closely aligned with Mercury, placing a strong emphasis on communication and truth. There may be words, feelings, or conversations that have been waiting to be expressed. Speak gently, honestly, and from the heart.

💰Ta**us governs security, stability, and our relationship with the material world — especially finances, values, and long-term foundations.

🫶🏽You may feel called to reassess your financial goals, organize your resources, or reflect on what you are truly building for your future.
Are your investments — of time, energy, and money — aligned with the life you genuinely want to create?

👈🏼This New Moon may also reconnect you with themes that first emerged around 2018. Looking back at who you were then compared to who you are now may reveal just how much you have transformed.

❌ Myth: “If I slow down, I’m being lazy.”

💛 Truth: If relaxing feels dangerous, your nervous system learned that somewhere.

Many busy parents and professionals carry a subconscious survival belief: Vigilance equals safety.

Softening can feel like risk. Letting down the guard can feel unsafe.

This is protection, not laziness. But it can be hard to convince the mind of this.

Healing involves gently teaching your body and mind that rest and protection can coexist.

Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is rest.

As a midwife for over 20 years, I’ve witnessed birth in all its beauty and complexity.

I’ve also witnessed birth trauma, and experienced vicarious trauma myself.

For a long time, we expected birth to be hard. So as a result, we minimised the impact.

But when a woman tells her birth story, uninterrupted and validated, something begins to shift.

She experiences acknowledgement, validation, and understanding. That is often the first stage of healing. 🌿

Birth trauma deserves space - not dismissal.

If you’ve been carrying your story quietly, you don’t have to anymore.

If it feels overwhelming, it’s probably activation, not renegotiation.

True renegotiation leaves you feeling like you have more capacity, rather than exhaustion or collapse. 💛

Because trauma often happens as ‘too much, too fast, too soon’, healing needs to happen slowly, in small, tolerable increments.

Pre and perinatal (PPN) healing isn’t just for pregnant people.

It’s about our earliest templates of co-regulation: in the womb, during birth, and in those first months. Our nervous systems relied entirely on others.

💛 If stress, separation, medical intervention, or lack of attunement occurred, the body adapted.

Many adults still carry that imprint, in different ways:

🔹A subtle sense of aloneness.
🔹Difficulty receiving support.
🔹Challenging attachment styles.

PPN informed work gently restores what was missing - with attuned presence, slow pacing, and reliable support.

This practice updates the body’s ‘template’ from “I have to manage alone” to “support arrives.” 🕊️
This work can be profound at any age.

♈️🐏Aries first sign of the zodiac is all about creation and returning to the core of who we are, the New Moon on April 17 symbolizes powerful new beginnings, creation and self-discovery.

👣🌱It brings a sense of a fresh start not just personally, but collectively, as if a new path is opening for everyone.

🔥🪐With 10 cosmic bodies in their fiery signs, this new moon has an especially strong presence of fire, encouraging passion, motivation, and confidence.
This fire needs an outlet so allow your body and mind the freedom to move, take action, have expression, and emotional release.

💔The presence of Chiron, the “wounded healer,” close to moon suggests emotional healing may surface. Old wounds, particularly around abandonment or feeling unloved, could arise for reflection. These challenges invite us to confront and process deeper pain.

🤗Ultimately, this period encourages self-acceptance and growth, asking us to consider how life might feel if we truly believed we were worthy and enough.

💗By leaning into self-love, we can align with our authentic selves.

🌚This New Moon supports both healing and transformation, guiding us toward a more empowered and genuine path forward.

💫Setting clear intentions helps guide our path forward for the new lunar cycle.

❌ Myth: “If therapy is working, I should feel better quickly.”

💛 Truth: Healing that lasts is rarely rushed.

You’ve had a lifetime of adapting. Your nervous system has built patterns carefully, for protection and safety.

When people ask me “How long will this take?” I gently say:

Rather than a race, think of healing as a recalibration.

The urge for fast, intense release often comes from trauma itself. But that can leave a person feeling ‘too much, too fast, and too soon.’

Deep healing moves at a pace the nervous system can trust. One breath at a time; small shifts that your mind and body are ready for. 🕊️

Slowness is about ensuring safety - it’s not a sign of failure.
