It has come to our attention that some of you haven’t received important updates regarding Dr Emily and Dr Tenille. We have tried to contact all patients directly affected, and we are very sorry to anyone who was missed.
Dr Emily has now commenced her maternity leave. We are so excited for her and her family as they prepare to welcome a new squishy bundle into the world.
We had prepared carefully for Emily’s leave, by recruiting the wonderful Dr Tenille. Finding the right doctors for TKYC is something we take incredibly seriously. We interview lots of people to find the one. Cinical excellence matters to us, but so do warmth, kindness, curiosity and a little bit of quirkiness.
When we met Tenille, we knew very quickly that she belonged here.
As any chronic disease sufferer knows, sometimes life throws a curve ball...in the shape of a lemon.
A few weeks ago Tenille became unexpectedly unwell, and we have since learned that she will not be able to return to work for the foreseeable future. This has been heartbreaking and unexpected, particularly for Tenille, and we are thinking of her as she focuses on her health.
Our other doctors are already working at capacity and cannot safely extend themselves further. Doing so would risk the quality of our care and the wellbeing of our team. We are not prepared to compromise either.
We are actively recruiting and have had some encouraging leads. Finding the right doctor takes time. We will wait for them. We will not settle for the wrong fit.
In the meantime, we will support continuity of care wherever we safely can, including regular prescriptions where clinically appropriate.
If you need ongoing GP care that we can't provide within the timeframe you need, we can also help transfer your records so your care can continue elsewhere.
We are working incredibly hard to find a solution. Every member of our Co-mmunity is at the forefront of our decision-making right now.
We will keep you updated as soon as we know more.
