School holidays can provide a valuable opportunity to focus on therapy goals without the demands of the school term.

NeuroJunior Allied Health offers School Holiday Intensive Programs designed to provide more frequent therapy over a shorter period of time, helping children and young people build skills through repetition, practice and targeted support.

Depending on individual goals, intensive programs may support:

Gross motor development and movement skills
Fine motor and everyday living skills
Communication and social participation
Strength, balance and coordination
Confidence and independence

Programs are tailored to each child and can focus on physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology or exercise physiology goals.

For some children, a more intensive approach can provide an opportunity to learn new skills, build confidence or work towards goals that require additional practice.

Already a client? Speak with your therapist about the opportunity for additional school holiday appointments. Not yet a client? If you would like to learn more or make a referral, please contact our team.

Each year, our team proudly gets behind the Fight MND Big Freeze to help raise awareness and support the fight against Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

Many of the people we support live with MND, so this cause is one that is close to our hearts. Across NeuroRehab Allied Health Network, team members purchased FightMND beanies and socks, made donations, and this morning took on the traditional ice bucket challenge in support of the cause.

A big thank you to CEO Steve and Receptionist Jack from our Deer Park clinic, Exercise Physiologist Joel and Physiotherapist Prasadi from our Tullamarine clinic, and Receptionist Tracie from our Albury clinic for stepping up and taking the plunge.

We also acknowledge the extraordinary contribution of Neale Daniher, whose courage, determination and unwavering commitment have transformed awareness, research and support for people living with MND across Australia.

Together, we celebrate the important work of FightMND and stand alongside the individuals, families and communities impacted by MND.

Returning to activity after a concussion is not always straightforward.

For some people, symptoms such as dizziness, fatigue or reduced exercise tolerance can make it difficult to resume normal routines.

A graded and structured approach to activity may help support a safe return.

This may include:
• Gradual increase in physical activity
• Monitoring symptoms during exercise
• Pacing strategies to manage fatigue
• Building confidence with movement over time

At NeuroRehab Allied Health Network, exercise-based rehabilitation is tailored to the individual and may be delivered alongside other therapies as part of a coordinated plan.

Investing in the future allied health workforce.

At NeuroRehab Allied Health Network, student placements are more than a learning opportunity, they are an investment in the future of neurological rehabilitation and the communities we serve.

This week we welcomed another student into our team, providing hands-on experience alongside clinicians supporting people living with neurological conditions and children and young people accessing allied health services.

As conversations continue around workforce shortages, access to healthcare, and the future of allied health services in regional and rural communities, quality clinical placements have never been more important.

We are proud to play our part by providing mentoring, supervision and practical learning experiences that help develop the next generation of allied health professionals.

We know many organisations are working to strengthen Australia's future allied health workforce, including Helen Haines MP and Allied Health Professions Australia. We're proud to contribute through student education and clinical placements, and to support initiatives that help remove barriers for future allied health professionals.
Creating new possibilities together.

Recovering from a concussion can involve more than one area of support.

For people experiencing ongoing symptoms, a multidisciplinary approach may help address the different ways concussion can impact daily life.

At NeuroRehab Allied Health Network, your team may include:

• Physiotherapy – supporting balance, dizziness and movement
• Occupational Therapy – supporting daily activities, fatigue and cognitive strategies
• Exercise Physiology – guiding safe return to physical activity
• Speech Pathology – supporting communication and cognitive skills where needed
• Dietetics – supporting nutrition and energy levels

Working this way helps ensure:
• Therapy goals are aligned
• Support is coordinated
• Progress is reviewed consistently

Programs are tailored to the individual and adjusted over time depending on needs and goals.

If you would like to learn more or make a referral, please contact our team.

May 30 marks World MS Day.

It is a time to recognise the experiences of people living with multiple sclerosis, and the importance of ongoing support, awareness and connection.

Living with MS can involve changes to movement, energy and day-to-day function. These changes are often different for each person and may evolve over time.

At NeuroRehab Allied Health Network, therapy is tailored to the individual and may involve multiple disciplines working together to support:
• Movement and mobility
• Strength and balance
• Fatigue and energy management
• Everyday function and participation

This coordinated approach helps ensure therapy remains practical, consistent and aligned with individual goals.

Understanding the difference between physiotherapy and exercise physiology can help ensure the right support is in place.

At NeuroRehab Allied Health Network, both services play an important role in neurological rehabilitation, but they are used in different ways.

Physiotherapy may focus on:
• Movement retraining after neurological injury
• Balance and coordination
• Managing changes in muscle tone
• Early-stage or more complex physical presentations

Exercise Physiology may focus on:
• Building strength and endurance
• Structured exercise programs
• Falls prevention and physical capacity
• Long-term health and wellbeing

These services are often used together as part of a multidisciplinary approach, helping ensure therapy is coordinated and aligned.

If you would like to learn more or make a referral, please contact our team.
