After 5.5 incredible years with OBP, we’re saying a very bittersweet farewell to our great friend Shelley Kennedy, .pelvicclinic! 🥹✨

Shell has been with us at OBP right from Day 1. From helping fitout the small shop, navigating consulting through Covid and always losing the key to the outhouse toilet; to her endless encouragement when we built our new practice, and helping with our landscaping and planting.

To say we’re going to miss her on Thursdays is a massive understatement. Her unmatched expertise in Womens Health Physio will be missed, and the fun she brought into work helped make OBP what it is today.

Shell is staying in Denmark but is taking a break from Womens Health Physio to focus on family and managing her other businesses! Shell, we hope you hate the break and come back soon ;)

Thanks for everything Shell!

🏆 Great night at the Great Southern Academy of Sport (GSAS) Awards!

Huge congratulations to Denmark’s very own Henri Bellanger and Ginger Gleeson for taking home the Best Individual Male Athlete of the Year and Best Female Athlete of the Year awards! 🥇 Denmark absolutely smashed it on Friday night, proving once again how much talent comes out of our town.

A massive thank you to Paralympian and Commonwealth Games champion sprinter for her incredible keynote presentation—and an extra special thanks for taking the time to visit Denmark Primary School! Having a champion share her journey was inspiring for our local kids. 🌟

Thanks to for running such a professional organisation and a fantastic evening. We love being a small part of the journey for these hard-working athletes! 🙌

The Power of Co-Regulation ⛵️ ⛵️

This beautiful illustration is one of Georgia's favourites in the OT room and perfectly captures what we call co-regulation.

When a child is in the middle of an emotional storm, their nervous system is entirely overwhelmed. They don’t have the neurological architecture yet to "just calm down" on their own.

They don't need us to meet them with another storm. They need to borrow our calm. 🌊⚓

Co-regulation is the process where a regulated adult uses their own steady, predictable nervous system to help guide an overwhelmed child back to a state of safety.

How can we offer our calm?

Lower your pitch and volume: A quiet, steady voice sends safety signals to an anxious brain.

Match their level physically: Sit on the floor, open your posture, and offer a grounded presence.

Slow your own breathing: Children instinctively pick up on our autonomic nervous system states.

Usually it's us parents who need to learn and upskill to best help our loved ones.

You cannot soothe a storm with a hurricane. Be the lighthouse. 🤍

Although it was hard, that was fun... whats next?

💪 13,174 PUSH-UPS & 1 WEEK TO GO! 💪

Our team is absolutely crushing the Push-Up Challenge! Collectively, we’ve so far smashed out over 13,000 drops to the floor and raised an incredible $800 for a fantastic cause! 🥳🎉

* It turns out our 1 arm push ups here dont quite cut it... So we'll have to stick with the floor and 2 hands. Nice try to Dave and Meg! 😂

With only 1 week left to go, it’s time to shake those arms out and finish strong!

🚀🔥We are also very grateful for all of the support and donations so far, thank you to everyone who has been part of the fun and the fundraising! Link below for anyone who is interested and able;

The Push-Up Challenge! 📣 Why our team is smashing out 3,307 push-ups this month...

If you drop into the clinic over the next few weeks and see our team randomly smashing out push-ups between appointments... no, we haven't lost our minds. It’s all for an incredible cause!

Our team is taking on The Push-Up Challenge—which means each crushing 3,307 push-ups in just 24 days! 💪

3,307 represents the number of lives lost to su***de in Australia in 2024. We are pushing to raise vital funds and awareness for mental health, with all donations going directly to Lifeline to support their life-saving services.

How you can support:

Donate: Every dollar helps. If you have a bit to spare, you can support our efforts here:

https://www.thepushupchallenge.com.au/fundraisers/oceanbeachphysioalliedhealth/the-push-up-challenge

Cheer us on: Give us a high-five, shout some encouragement, or hey—drop down and do a few with us!

Let’s push for better mental health, together. Go Team!... Anyone know a good physio?
😄 💪 ❤️
