We’re looking for experienced Support Workers who have a genuine ability to connect with children and young people.

Experience in youth work, trauma-informed care, child and family services and/or educational settings will be highly regarded.
A strong understanding of child safeguarding, professional boundaries and relationship-based support is essential.

You’ll need:
Working with Vulnerable People Registration
NDIS Worker Screening clearance/ID
National Police Check less than 3 months old
Current First Aid
Medication Administration Certificate (or we can arrange enrolment)

💜 A really valuable conversation for our sector today

Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming representatives from National Disability Services to Tassiecare Services, including Michael Perusco, CEO of NDS; Karen Stace, Director of Policy and Advocacy; and Cathy Limb, State Manager Tasmania.

It was encouraging to hear more about the work NDS is doing to advocate for the disability sector, particularly as we continue to navigate significant and fast-moving reforms across the NDIS.

More importantly, it gave us an opportunity to have a very open conversation about what these reforms look like on the ground — for providers, our workforce and, most importantly, for participants.

We discussed several areas of concern, particularly for people with complex support needs and some of the most vulnerable participants within the Scheme.

These are challenges we know are unlikely to be unique to Tassiecare, and it was valuable to raise what we are seeing and to talk about what providers, NDS and government need to be thinking about as the reforms continue.

We absolutely recognise that the NDIS must be sustainable into the future. At the same time, sustainability and reform must never lose sight of the people the Scheme was created to support.

For us, the conversation comes back to one important question:

How do we achieve a sustainable NDIS while ensuring that changes do not unintentionally place participants at an unacceptable risk of harm or reduce access to the supports they genuinely need?
There may not always be simple answers, but these conversations matter.

Thank you Michael, Karen and Cathy for taking the time to visit, listen and have an open and constructive discussion with us. We value being part of a sector that can raise difficult issues, share what we are seeing on the ground and work collaboratively towards better outcomes for people with disability. 💜

At Tassiecare Services, we have a team of Behaviour Support Practitioners with experience across areas including child and youth work, criminology, trauma, complex behaviours and disability support.

What they all share is a strong commitment to trauma-informed, person-centred practice — but for us, those words only mean something when they are reflected in our culture, our actions and the way we actually work with people.

Our practitioners don’t just sit behind a computer and write a Behaviour Support Plan. They work alongside you to understand you as a person, your needs, your environment, the people around you, what is working and where things could be better.
Safeguarding, safety and wellbeing are a big part of how we work. We believe good behaviour support comes from listening, observing, analysing, collaborating and developing practical strategies that make sense in everyday life.
