Exciting news from Support Chain!

We’re pleased to share that Support Chain will soon be expanding our services to support elderly Australians with Support At Home funding.
Our team is preparing to provide caring, reliable and person-centred support that helps older Australians feel safe, respected and connected.
Whether it’s everyday assistance, companionship, or support that helps people maintain independence and quality of life, we look forward to walking alongside individuals, families and care providers.
More details will be shared soon. We can’t wait to bring the Support Chain difference to aged care.

Meet Hayley, our Support Worker!

Hayley supports Stan to stay active and enjoy getting out into the community.

Last week we were proud to sponsor an Able Meet event alongside Nurse Next Door Bayside.

Shelley and our Support Coordinator Team Leader, Emily, had a wonderful time connecting with new providers and catching up with familiar faces across the NDIS and aged care sectors.

Success Story: Congratulations Michael
A huge congratulations to our client Michael, who recently achieved an exciting milestone — getting his driver’s licence!
With support from a specialised driver trainer and occupational therapist, Michael was able to approach his driving assessment with confidence and pass without unnecessary stress.

Michael’s support team took the time to build trust and rapport by being patient, friendly, flexible and understanding - an approach that can make such a meaningful difference for people with autism. They worked around Michael’s schedule, supported him through his reluctance to attend lessons, helped reduce anxiety in the lead-up to his assessment and assisted with navigating the VicRoads system to make the process as smooth as possible.

On behalf of Michael and his mum, we’d like to say a heartfelt thank you to Chris, his Support Coordinator from Support Chain, Greg Ekkel from Specialised Driver Training, and Matthew White from Melbourne Wide Occupational Therapy.

If you or someone you know could benefit from extra support to work towards getting a driver’s licence, speak with your Support Coordinator today.

Staff Spotlight

Meet Jyoti
Our Supervisor & Intake Officer

We’re delighted to shine a spotlight on Jyoti this week. If you’ve ever called us, or call us in the future, Jyoti may be the first lovely voice you hear on the other end of the phone.
Jyoti brings with her more than 20 years of nursing experience across Australia and overseas. She has such a calm and caring way of speaking with people, and she always takes the time to listen and help.
Her kindness, patience and welcoming nature make her such a beautiful first point of contact for our participants, families and providers.
We feel very lucky to have Jyoti as part of the Support Chain team — and we know you’ll love chatting with her too. 💛

Did You Know

National Brain injury Awareness Week in Australia is next week - 17 - 23 August 2026

This year's national theme is Brain injury: many pathways, one community.

Brain injury is bigger than you think, with around 1 in 45 Australians living with a brain injury, and almost 3 in 4 of these people aged under 65, raising awareness is essential. Brain injury can occur in many everyday situations, even when it is not formally diagnosed. Causes include falls, motor vehicle, e-scooter and cycling accidents, contact sports, assault, domestic and family violence, illness, stroke, and dementia. A brain injury can happen at any stage of life.

People living with brain injury deserve the support, services, and inclusive communities that enable them to live self-determined lives. By increasing understanding and working together, we can help ensure that everyone affected by brain injury feels connected, supported, and empowered.
