My fingers gripped the steering wheel and the biggest smile erupted on my face. I was on my way across the Nullarbor in my 2003 Toyota van; going solo and earning my stripes as a grey nomad at 64. I was ready for adventure and freedom.
My maiden trip to Wagga and Canberra confirmed that Rozzi (van) would give an outstanding performance against the harsh isolation of the Nullarbor. Nothing could stop her. Pirouetting out of a bog and devouring thousands of kilometres this feisty van also took me to Brisbane and down the south coast, then back home to Dubbo.
So much humor on the other side of perceived catastrophe.
This was a taste and see trip mainly to view the Great Australian Bite and to bathe in the aqua marine waters of Western Australia, which are confined by the whitest sandy beaches. After much eye rolling and humorous episodes this story was composed in a way that will hopefully be entertaining, informative and will make you the reader smile.
