Caring for someone living with dementia can be rewarding, challenging, exhausting and sometimes isolating.

You don’t have to navigate it alone.

Our NALAG Dementia Carers Support Group provides a safe, supportive space for people caring for someone with dementia to:

🌿 Access support and guidance
🌿 Talk openly about the challenges and changes that come with caring

💻 “But will Telehealth really be as effective as seeing an OT in person?”

It’s a hesitation we completely understand — and one many parents have when first considering Telehealth Occupational Therapy.

But Telehealth offers something incredibly valuable: the opportunity to put parents at the centre of therapy.

The biggest changes rarely happen during a 30–60 minute appointment with an Occupational Therapist. They happen at home, every day — during morning routines, getting dressed, mealtimes, play, homework, emotional moments, bedtime and everything in between.

Through Telehealth, our role is not simply to work with your child. It is to educate, coach and empower you as the parent with practical strategies that fit your child, your family and your real-life environment.

🌿 Because when parents understand the “why” behind a strategy, they can confidently use it long after the therapy session ends.

Telehealth can help parents to:
• Better understand their child’s individual needs
• Learn practical strategies they can use immediately at home
• Problem-solve challenges within the environment where they actually occur
• Build confidence in supporting their child’s development
• Embed therapeutic strategies naturally into everyday routines
• Create consistency between therapy sessions

Therapy isn’t just what happens during an OT appointment.

It’s what happens in all the little moments between appointments.

And when parents have the knowledge, confidence and tools to make those moments therapeutic, that’s where meaningful and lasting change can happen.

✨ WELCOME TO THE TEAM ✨

Pure Potential is thrilled to introduce Almas to the Pure Potential team.

Almas will be taking the role of Clinical Lead, Paediatric Occupational Therapist. Almas has extensive experience across the paediatric setting specialising in those vital early intervention years. We are so grateful to be adding such valuable experience to our team who shares our vision of increasing occupational therapy services across our region.

Almas is passionate about working with children and supporting them to build confidence, independence and meaningful participation in their everyday lives. What she loves most about paediatric occupational therapy is getting to know each child as an individual, understanding their strengths and challenges, and finding creative and practical ways to help them reach their potential.
She enjoys working closely with children, families, carers and their wider support teams to make therapy meaningful, engaging and relevant to everyday life. She believe that therapy should be centred around the child and family, while creating opportunities for children to feel successful, confident and empowered in the things that matter most to them.

Almas will be operating via Tele-health allowing access across our region despite location. We will now be accepting referrals for Almas with those on our wait list given priority.
