Our clinic will be closed for the Christmas break from Wednesday 18th December, reopening on Monday 5th January.

GIVING CHOICES ❔💬

Offering your child choices is a powerful way to encourage communication. By giving two clear options—like “teddy or ball?”, “water or apple?”, or “Bluey or cars?”—you give your child a natural opportunity to express themselves in any way that works for them.

They might point, gesture, make a sound, or use a word. Every response is communication, and every choice helps them feel confident and in control.

This strategy fits beautifully into everyday routines like playtime, mealtimes, and getting dressed. 🌈🗣️

These little moments in play, mealtimes, or everyday routines help build vocabulary, support understanding, and strengthen communication skills in a relaxed, fun way.

🌟 Nesting Dolls for Early Language! 🌟

Here are some fun concepts and language targets you can explore:
🟣 Size Concepts
• Big vs little
• Smallest to biggest (sorting + describing!)

🟡 Position & Spatial Concepts
• In/out (“The baby goes in the mummy!”)
• On/off, next to, under (add blocks or a toy house!)

🟢 Action Words
• Open, shut, hide, find, spin, fall down
Model verbs in short phrases like “Open doll!”, “Find baby!”

🧡 Describing & Expanding Language
• Colours, counting, characters (“Big blue daddy! Little baby!”)
