Active - On The Move Rehabilitation

Active - On The Move Rehabilitation Active - On The Move, is the first facility of its kind in Western NSW.

We support people through Activity Based Therapy (ABT) and Social Inclusion in an enthusiastic non-sterile environment, providing expert Exercise Physiology Services to Dubbo. Accredited Exercise Physiologists at Active – On The Move specialise in the delivery of evidence-based exercise therapy for individuals living with chronic disease, disorders and injury, with our facility having a significan

t focus on all forms of disability. Our team is comprised with a number of Allied Health Professionals also including Accredited Exercise Scientists and Allied Health Assistants. We deliver, adapt and evaluate the physiological aspect of the human body through physical activity and exercise-based interventions to facilitate and optimise health status, function, recovery and independence of our participants. We pride ourselves on our application of evidence-based judgement and clinical reasoning to provide a client-centred approach that is not only inclusive, but also independently goal driven for each individual that enters our facility. Furthermore, we offer aquatic-based therapy in the form Hydrotherapy, as well as telehealth sessions to support our rural and remote community. We utilize what our community has to offer by having the option to complete sessions off site to assist with specific goals. Active – On the Move is NOT a gym, we are a team of allied health professionals who pride ourselves on what we can offer to our community, within our community.

You might have noticed a few faces missing last week

Our EPs Nic, Jess & Bec headed to Adelaide to attend the ESSA annual conference.

During the conference, they had the privilege to listen to a number of amazing keynote speakers such as four time Olympian Robert de Castella, AO MBE and Dr Richard Harris SC OAM who was involved in the Thai cave rescue. We also had the opportunity to listen to lectures on interdisciplinary teams from five time Olympic gold medallist Brad McGee, Dr Katie Slattery (UTS), and four amazing Paralympic athletes - Dr Bridie Kean (wheelchair basketball), Katie Kelly OAM (triathlon), Jed Altschwager OAM (rowing), and Dr Hannah MacDougall (swimming).

Alongside these keynote speakers, they also attended lectures and workshops on topics such as chronic lower back pain management, women’s cardiovascular health, concussion and traumatic brain injury, cancer, eating disorders and body image, mental health in worker’s compensation, and so much more! It was a great opportunity to network with other EPs from across the country and learn from the leaders in so many different fields.

We’re so happy they had a great time but even happier to have them back to share what they’ve learnt.

🧡 100kms for Cancer - Moving together this May 🧡

This month, we’re coming together as a community to support something bigger than ourselves. Whether you walk, ride, ski or row- every kilometer you complete helps us reach our shared 100km goal for cancer.

We’ve made it easy, next time you’re in the gym:
✨ Donate ( gold coin or via eftpos )
✨ Add your name to the board
✨ Write how many kms you’ve done that session
✨ Celebrate our progress each week

No matter how big or small your contribution, you’re apart of the team. Every step, stroke or stride counts.

All funds raised will be proudly donated to the Western Cancer Centre Foundation Dubbo 🧡
