When Robyn learned she’d lose her sight to glaucoma in two years, she didn’t retreat. She started photographing our little sunrise crew and painting us one by one, from home, with a magnifying glass. Eighteen portraits and counting.

Every morning at sunrise, an unlikely crew gathers around a coffee van near Jordan Gian house. Different ages, different lives, all somehow ending up in the same place before the day starts.

One of them is Robyn. She’s been painting since the 1970s, though you’d never guess it standing next to her.

This is Part 1 of The Artist’s Eyes, a short film we made about her. No sales pitch. Just a story we think is worth telling.

When Robyn learned she’d lose her sight to glaucoma in two years, she didn’t fold inward. She started photographing our unlikely little sunrise crew, then painting us one by one from home. Eighteen portraits and counting.

We put our whole heart (and our marketing budget) into a short film about her. Not to sell anything. Just because we think the way Robyn lives is worth paying attention to.
