Most of you probably don't know this about me...

I do Physie.

As in performance wear, fake tan, makeup, competition number and all. 😂

It's a part of my life I don't share very often here. Some of my own club mates know this side of me well, but outside of my club, my Physie world and my mindfulness work haven't really crossed paths.

Until now.

Competition season is here and I've been thinking about just how much time we spend preparing our bodies to take the floor.

We practise our routines over and over. We work on our strength, our control, our positions and our performance. We listen to corrections. We practise some more.
And then competition day arrives.

The nerves kick in. There's noise everywhere. You're watching the other competitors. You're waiting for your heat. Your heart's beating a little faster and suddenly all that work you've done can feel a very long way away.

We prepare our bodies so carefully for competition. I think our minds deserve some preparation too.

So I've created something for us. 🩵

Before You Take the Floor is a free 13-minute guided visualisation for Physie competition.

It's designed to help you mentally rehearse the experience before competition day - hearing your heat called, marching onto the floor, finding your place and settling into your body.

Not imagining a perfect performance.
Not pretending the nerves won't be there.
Just practising how you want to meet that moment.

Calm. Strong. Present.

I've recorded it so you can come back to it in the weeks and days leading into competition - whenever you need a reminder to quieten the noise around you and trust the work you've already done.

If you'd like a copy, simple click the link below.

And to all my fellow Physie ladies heading into competition season - enjoy that moment when you finally get to take the floor. 🩵

What are you ready to stop carrying?

At our first Exhale Experience, each woman was invited to quietly consider that question.

The pressure.
The expectations.
The things taking up far more space in her mind than she realised.

We wrote them down, tucked them into these little bundles and carried them outside to the fire.

There was no big declaration and no need to explain or share what had been written. Just a quiet moment of choosing to let something go.

And then watching the fire take it.

On Sunday 30 August we'll gather again at Winmark for The Exhale Experience.

It also happens to be the last Sunday of winter, which feels kind of fitting.

A chance to pause at the edge of a new season and ask yourself:
What am I ready to leave behind?

For a few hours nothing is required of you.

No one you need to look after.
Nothing you need to organise.
Nowhere else you need to be.

You can simply arrive.

This is a little glimpse from our first Exhale Experience at Winmark.

On the last Sunday of winter, we’ll gather again for an afternoon of slowing down, letting go and reconnecting with ourselves.

Not to reinvent ourselves for spring.

Just to take a breath before we step into it.

There's something special about gathering for our next Exhale Experience on the very last Sunday of winter.

By the end of August, I think many of us are ready for a shift.

To step out of the heaviness of winter.
To feel the days beginning to stretch out again.
To make a little space for what comes next.

So on Sunday 30 August, we’ll gather again at Winmark for an afternoon of slowing down, letting go and reconnecting with ourselves.

There’ll be meditation, journalling, crystal singing bowls and time simply to be in the beautiful surrounds of Winmark.

No pressure to transform yourself.

No long list of things you should be doing differently.

Just a few hours where nothing is required of you.

A chance to put down some of what you’ve been carrying and head into spring feeling a little lighter.

I think the last Sunday of winter might just be the perfect day to exhale. 🤍

How are you?

It's such a simple question.

Yet on Thursday, it stopped the women in their tracks.

When I asked them how they were, the answers came quickly.

Busy.
Lots happening.
Work is full.
The kids need this.
The calendar looks like that.

Then I asked them to put all of that aside.

This wasn't about the to-do list.
The people relying on them.
Or what was coming next.

Just themselves.

"How are you?"

Silence.

Not because they didn't want to answer.
They didn't know how.

It was a question they hadn't asked themselves in a very long time.

As we sat with it, another pattern quietly emerged.

So many of us are living somewhere in the future.
"When the kids finish school..."
"In five years, I'll have more time..."
"Once things settle down..."

As though life will begin after the next milestone.

As though peace is something we earn.

It made me wonder...
How many of us are postponing our own lives while becoming incredibly good at managing everyone else's?

Women's Circle isn't about having all the answers.

It's about creating enough space to hear yourself again.

To notice what you've been carrying.

To become present to the life that's already here, instead of waiting for the one you imagine is coming.

Perhaps that's where everything begins. 🤍

if your heart has been quietly whispering that it's time to make space for yourself,
I'd love to welcome you.

We're so good at waiting.

Waiting for life to settle down.

Waiting until work feels less busy.

Waiting until everyone else needs us a little less.

Waiting until it feels like the "right time."

The thing is...

Life rarely creates that space for us.

Most of the time, we have to choose it.

Not because everything else is finished.
Because we matter too.

That's what Women's Circle has always been about for me.
Not escaping life.
Returning to yourself within it.

A couple of hours where you don't need to hold everything together.
Where you can breathe a little deeper.
Listen a little more closely.

And remember the woman underneath all the roles you carry every day.

This Thursday, a new Winter Women's Circle begins.
If it feels like your season to stop waiting, I'd love to welcome you. 🤍

Why a Circle series instead of a one-off gathering?

It’s a question I’ve been asked a few times recently.

The simple answer?

Trust takes time.

The first time we gather, most women arrive carrying a little uncertainty.

They wonder who’ll be there.

Whether they’ll fit in.

If they’ll know what to say.

Or if they’ll say anything at all.

And that’s completely natural.

By the second gathering, shoulders soften and names become familiar.

The room feels a little less unknown.

By the third…

Something shifts.

The conversations become deeper.

The laughter comes more easily.

The silence feels comfortable.

Women stop wondering if they belong, they know they do.

That’s the beauty of returning.

It’s not that every circle follows the same theme. It’s because each gathering gently builds on the last.

Over time, something beautiful happens.

A group of women form a community.

A room of strangers becomes a place where you can arrive exactly as you are.

That’s why I chose a five-session journey this winter.

Because the most meaningful transformations rarely happen in a single conversation.

They happen when women are given the time, the safety and the permission to keep coming back.
