The city council of Caltanissetta, in Sicily, has become the first local authority in Italy to formally endorse the Plant Based Treaty — a landmark moment for the movement in a country not exactly known for its plant-based politics.

The motion passed with 13 votes in favor and just one against, with the council committing to introduce plant-forward menus in school canteens, serve plant-based food at municipal events, and write to Italy's national ministers urging action at the highest level.

Caltanissetta now joins roughly 68 cities worldwide — including Amsterdam, Edinburgh, and Los Angeles — that have formally aligned with the treaty's call to halt the expansion of animal agriculture.

The councillor who introduced the motion framed it not as restriction but as opportunity, noting that central Sicily is already experiencing the droughts and crop failures that come with a warming planet.

If an Italian city can vote to shift toward plant-based food systems, so can the next one — and the one after that.

This vibrant smoothie is packed with antioxidants, healthy fats, minerals, amino acids, and longevity-supporting superfoods to nourish your body from the inside out.

✨ Ingredients

🍍 1 cup frozen pineapple

🍇 1 cup frozen red grapes

🥥 1 cup coconut water

🥥 ½ cup coconut milk

🌰 2 Brazil nuts

🌱 1 tablespoon black chia seeds

🫐 1 teaspoon elderberry powder

💪 3–5g pure creatine powder

✨ 1 teaspoon silicon powder

🌿 1 teaspoon L-lysine powder

❤️ 1 scoop Stardust Longevity Powder
(includes pomegranate, strawberry, acai, blueberry & beetroot)
