Bidgee Con (a 1.5-day primary healthcare conference) took place over the weekend in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales at the Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network (MPHN).
The weekend featured workshops, networking, and keynotes on rural general practice and healthcare.
The conference was designed for GPs, registrars, practice nurses, and allied health professionals.
Conference Highlights:
- Hands-on Workshops: Clinical sessions covered dental emergencies, wound care, CPR, and ECG interpretation.
- Day Two Topics: The second day explored NSW ADHD reforms, artificial intelligence in practice, dementia, shared medical appointments, and diabetes in pregnancy.
- Keynote Speakers: Included A/Prof Michael Clements (college-led GP training), A/Prof John Stevens, Prof Mark Cormack, and Mario Gupta.
- Social Event: A cocktail evening was hosted on the Friday at The Gardens Function Centre at the Wagga Wagga Botanic Gardens
