June isn’t just the start of winter - it’s also Scleroderma Awareness Month. 💛
This month, we’re inviting Australians to come together, raise awareness, and support the more than 6,000 people living with scleroderma across the country.
For many people living with scleroderma, winter is more than just cold weather. Symptoms such as Raynaud’s phenomenon, digital ulcers, joint stiffness, and breathing difficulties can become even more challenging during the colder months, making everyday activities harder and more painful.
That’s why our Snuggle Up for Scleroderma campaign is so vital - helping raise awareness, fund specialist nursing support, and stand alongside those affected by scleroderma.
As temperatures drop, staying warm and cosy becomes essential for many people living with scleroderma. This campaign encourages everyone to embrace the warmth, connect with others, and raise vital funds for dedicated Scleroderma Nurses.
These specialised nurses provide expert care, education, support, and guidance to patients and families navigating this complex condition. Yet currently, there is no government funding for Scleroderma Nurses in Australia.
Every dollar raised goes directly towards supporting the scleroderma community and helping ensure people affected by scleroderma have access to the care they need.
Easy ways to get involved:
- Host a cosy afternoon tea with friends and family
- Organise a movie night or slumber party
- Hold a comfy clothes or casual day at your workplace
- Start a fundraiser in your local community
- Make a donation to support dedicated Scleroderma Nurses
Together, we can raise awareness, provide support, and help bring warmth to those living with scleroderma this winter.
