Kidney Camel is one of my favourite yoga therapy moves for supporting kidney energy, adrenal balance and lower back awareness.

In meridian yoga therapy the kidney area is connected with our deep reserves of energy, drive, courage and our ability to move forward in life.

Physically this move helps to open the front body and stretch the iliopsoas and re**us Deloris - key hip flexor muscles that contribute to anterior pelvic tilt when tight…

When the pelvis is pulled forward, it can increase compression and pressure through the lower back. By gently releasing the front of the hips and thighs, Kidney Camel helps to reduce this pressure, improve pelvic balance and support greater ease in the lower back.

It’s a beautiful move to practice when you’re feeling tired, stressed, depleted or experience lower back tension.

Important: always begin with a gentle warm up, like cat-cow to warm up the spine, and finish with cat-cow to counterbalance the back bend.

Move slowly, breathe deeply, and listen to your body.

Save this practice and try it when you need to reconnect with your energy ✨

This weekend’s class was filled with mindful movement, supportive adjustments, options for every body, nourishing partner massage, warming miso soup, laughter and beautiful connection.

Guided by experienced teacher Lisa Masters, everyone supported to move safely, explore the body with awareness and practice at your own pace.
