The old Banksia facility could provide a much-needed drug and alcohol detoxification service for Tamworth and the wider New England Northwest.

At the moment, people often have to travel long distances away from family and local support to access treatment.

This petition is calling for the former Banksia facility to stay in public hands and be repurposed as a modern detoxification unit.

🌱 We’re Hiring – Support Workers | Holistic Recovery

At Holistic Recovery, we’re not simply looking for someone to fill a shift. We’re looking for the right people to join our team.

We’re seeking Support Workers who genuinely believe in person-centred support and understand that every person has their own story, strengths, goals and choices.

You might be the right fit for our team if you:

* Believe in supporting people with dignity, choice and respect
* Have an understanding of mental health, psychosocial disability and/or youth support
* Can work in a trauma-informed and person-centred way
* Understand that good support is about building capacity and independence, not doing everything for someone
* Are reliable, compassionate and comfortable working as part of a team
* Can build genuine professional relationships while maintaining appropriate boundaries
* Are willing to learn and grow

We are currently recruiting Support Workers for our Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Youth Support services, including day and night shifts.

💰 Pay starts from $45.28/hr + Super

Experience is valued, but attitude, values and the way you support people matter just as much to us.

Tonight at The Beacon Truck, we’re doing something a little different alongside our usual Wednesday service.

We’ll be helping people who are doing it tough to complete the Census.

If you’re sleeping rough, couch surfing, staying somewhere temporarily, or simply don’t have a permanent address, that shouldn’t mean your voice disappears from the numbers.

Census data matters. It helps build a picture of who lives in our community and helps inform decisions about services, housing, health care and support.

And if some of the most vulnerable people in our community aren’t counted, that picture isn’t complete.

So tonight, we’re doing our little bit to make sure everyone counts.

Volunteers needed tomorrow!

Holistic Recovery is running a Sensory Space at Homeless Connect and is looking for 3–4 volunteers between 9:30 am and 2:00 pm.

We’re also seeking donations of small sensory items such as fidget toys, stress balls, colouring supplies and soft toys.
