Thinking of and honouring mother’s today.

Motherhood is not just joy and happiness - it is lifelong and really hard.
I have the privilege of witnessing “close up” the sacrificial love of mothers in the hard, lonely and exhausting early days of parenting and the delight of watching you grow in confidence as a mother!

My heart goes out especially to those whose hearts are broken with sadness and grief.
It may be from loss of a child, not having a child, loss of relationship, living with illness or disability, unrelenting exhaustion or feelings of failure and inadequacy.

Remember you are not alone.
For myself, I press into the love and care of my Heavenly Father, the God of all comfort who has also experienced the loss of His own Son.

Does anyone have one of my medela supply lines sitting unused in their cupboard??
I am aware of 3 currently being used but somehow the other 9 seem to have vanished.
I have a mum in need of one so would greatly appreciate any that can be found and returned.
No judgement - life is hectic especially with little people to care for.

My husband and I are on a European adventure, visiting family currently living in Spain (our daughter) and Italy (my sister)!
In my absence, Rebecca Denny IBCLC, dear colleague and friend, will be caring for my practice in addition to her own families.

To my dear clients and families,

I will be away on holidays for the next 3 weeks, enjoying some beach time in Thailand to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary.

In my absence, my dear friend and colleague, Bec Denny, is available to provide care to you all.
Bec is an excellent IBCLC and midwife, and a beautiful woman who will give compassionate and competent clinical care.

I read this today and hope it will be an encouragement to those of you in the very tiring, early years of little ones.

“The "silent work" you do in motherhood is some of the most important work you'll ever do.

Cleaning the house on repeat so your family live in a clean home.

Staying up late to get the laundry done so they have clean clothes to wear.

Getting up early so you can have your moment of peace before the house wakes up.

Cooking home-cooked meals so your children can grow strong.

Sacrificing sleep to feed and soothe your baby so they feel safe and loved.

While the rest of the world is trying to convince me that success is fancy cars and luxury brands, success to me in this season is getting to the end of the day having accomplished all my silent work that no one outside of my home will ever know I did. And to me, that is enough.”

Thank you so your patience and understanding during my unexpected time away after the loss of my lovely brother-in-law.

I am back in Toowoomba and will resume practice as normal from next week: Tuesday 18/6/24.

I will continue to work regular clinic hours on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays with care provided at other times on an “as needed” clinical basis.
