An update for my patients

From the week beginning 14 September, I will be moving my clinical practice fully to Eaton Skin & Aesthetics (ESA) and will no longer be seeing patients for general GP consultations.

My practice at ESA will be focused entirely on skin cancer detection and surgery, dermatology and aesthetic medicine.

This is a significant change for me after many years of general practice, and particularly for those patients and families I have looked after over a long period of time. I am very grateful for the trust you have placed in me and for the privilege of being involved in your healthcare over the years.

For the past 10 years, I have increasingly focused my postgraduate education and clinical practice on skin cancer medicine, dermatology and aesthetics. I have also invested substantially in the equipment, technology and facilities needed to provide more advanced services in these areas locally. That part of my practice has gradually grown to the point where it now requires my full clinical time.

When planning the move to ESA, I had initially intended to continue seeing my existing general practice patients at Eaton Medical Centre one day each week. In practice, I have realised that this would not provide those patients with the continuity or availability they deserve. You will be better served by establishing an ongoing relationship with one of the excellent GPs at Eaton Medical Centre who is there more regularly and can provide continuing comprehensive care.

I am not leaving Eaton Medical Centre. I will remain a co-owner of EMC with Dr Martin Gadd and will continue to be closely involved with the practice. I will also be available to the doctors at EMC to discuss the care of my former patients and assist with handover or background information whenever this is helpful.

And, of course, I am not disappearing as your doctor when it comes to skin. Existing and new patients will continue to be able to see me at ESA for skin cancer checks and treatment, skin conditions and aesthetic medicine.

I would like to sincerely thank all of my general practice patients for allowing me to be part of your lives and healthcare over the years. For some of you, that has been a very long relationship, and stepping away from general practice was not a decision I made lightly.

I am enormously grateful for your trust and support, and I look forward to continuing to serve the Eaton, Australind and surrounding communities in this next phase of my practice.

Important notice regarding our page

We would like to let our patients and followers know that we are currently experiencing an issue with the Eaton Skin & Aesthetics page.

Around the end of June, we unexpectedly lost administrative control of the Page. As a result, we are currently unable to access, manage, update it or respond to direct messages.

This matter has been reported to Meta, and we are working directly with the Meta Pro Support team to have the Page restored. We appreciate their assistance while the matter is being investigated.

Importantly:

Eaton Skin & Aesthetics remains fully operational.
All appointments, treatments and clinical services continue as normal.
Our phone numbers, email addresses and website remain unchanged.
If you need to contact us, please do so using our official website, telephone, email, this Instagram account, or the Eaton & Australind Medical Centre page.

Until this issue is resolved, please be aware that any new posts, messages or changes appearing on the Eaton Skin & Aesthetics page are not being made by our team, as we do not currently have administrative access.

Flu vaccines are now available at Eaton & Australind Medical Centre and is provided for free by the government for everyone in May and June.

Children aged 2 - 12 can have a very effective nasal vaccine which removes the need for a needle.

These vaccine can be given in one of our Winter Vaccine Clinics.

Please call our reception team on 08 9724 3311 to secure your place in one of our Winter Vaccine Clinics.

Easter Opening Hours

The waiting list for full body skin checks with the FotoFinder Automated Total Body Mapping system is about to significantly reduce.

We are delighted to welcome Dr Vanessa Orsi to Eaton Skin & Aesthetics.

Dr Orsi brings over 20 years of medical experience and has practised exclusively in skin cancer medicine and surgery for the past five years.

Her expertise includes:

• Advanced dermoscopy
• Melanoma detection
• Complex excisions (flaps and grafts)
• Facial skin cancer surgery

With expanded FotoFinder digital imaging capability now available at ESA, patients across Eaton, Bunbury, Australind and the wider South West can access advanced skin cancer care locally.

Dr Orsi commences 24 February and will be consulting full-time, practising exclusively in skin cancer medicine.

We recently invited our patients to share feedback about their experience at Eaton and Australind Medical Centre and we’re very grateful to everyone who took the time to respond.

Patient feedback is a vital part of how we reflect, improve and ensure we’re delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centred care. While the overall feedback was very positive, a number of common themes were raised, including access to preferred doctors, waiting times, fees and how our appointment systems work.
