Ok… seems we have a sibling that will 100% try to outdo each other here!!! πŸ€£πŸ’™
We come from a long line of family competition and clearly nothing has changed!

My sister, Vettie Southgate , is also raising money for the Riley Round.

Her message:
β€œHelp me reach my $500 goal and please let me beat Pumbaa πŸ€£β€

Honestly… nothing like a bit of sibling rivalry for a good cause πŸ˜‚β„οΈ

But in all seriousness, while we may joke and they will compete with each other, the reason behind this event is incredibly important and a little bittersweet. πŸ’™

Crib Point Junior Football Club and the senior club are raising funds to support Riley & his family as he battles - a cruel disease that impacts not only the person fighting it, but their entire family and community as well.

So whether you donate to Yvette, Joshua, or simply share the posts, every dollar raised helps support the fight against MND and shows Riley and his family they are not facing this battle alone.

Let’s put the sibling rivalry aside for a minute and absolutely smash these fundraising goals together πŸ’™β„οΈ

My brother, Joshua Gartland , has been nominated by his Under 14 Girls Footy team to take part in the MND Big Freeze with funds raised going to a local legend currently fighting Motor Neurone Disease.

Riley's Round is such a fantastic initiative by both the Crib Point Football Netball Club & Crib Point Junior Football Club. Riley is a genuinely great guy, and Pumba more than happy and honored to put his hand up, go down the slide, and help raise some funds for him and his family. πŸ’™β„οΈ

Let’s get to the minimum $500 target β€” but honestly, I’d/we would all love to absolutely smash it! Every dollar counts and every share helps.
Please donate if you can and share this post far and wide so we can get behind an amazing cause and an amazing family. πŸ’™

The theme is Disney, and Pumba Is also open to costume ideas! He does already have one in mind, but would love to hear everyone’s suggestions πŸ‘€βœ¨

🌿 Service Update - New Light Disability & Counselling Services 🌿

To our wonderful participants, families, and community,

Due to ongoing non-payments and the impact this has had on staff wellbeing and burnout, we have made some important changes to ensure our services remain sustainable and that our team is supported.

🚫 Cleaning Services
We have made the difficult decision to remove regular cleaning services from New Light Disability & Counselling Services moving forward.

We are no longer accepting new cleaning clients or bookings.

A small number of existing cleaning participants may still be supported on a casual or occasional basis, depending on availability.

πŸ’¬ Counselling & Youth Mentoring Sessions
Due to regular repeat non-payments, all counselling and youth mentoring sessions will now move to a pre-paid booking system. This helps ensure appointments are respected and allows us to continue offering consistent, high-quality support.

🌿 Current Capacity
We are currently fully booked until approximately mid to late April while we work through existing supports and scheduled services.

βœ… casual weekday/Weekend Support Availability
There may be limited support worker availability for participants who require assistance. (Pending Day/times needed)

Thank you to our amazing community for your understanding and continued support as we make these changes to protect both our participants and our team. πŸ’™

Restriction of freedom is abuse β€” even when it’s subtle.
This is where someone slowly takes away your independence until your world becomes smaller and smaller.

This can look like:
β€’ controlling who you see and talk to
β€’ isolating you from family and friends
β€’ getting angry when you make plans without them
β€’ demanding to know where you are at all times
β€’ checking your phone, messages, or social media
β€’ monitoring your location
β€’ pressuring you to stay home
β€’ making you feel guilty for leaving the house
β€’ controlling your clothing or appearance
It often starts as β€œprotectiveness” or jealousy…
but over time it becomes control and isolation.

πŸ’› Healthy love encourages your world to grow.
Abuse makes your world shrink.
