Spring has a way of reminding us that change doesn't have to be forced — it just unfolds, one small shift at a time. 🌱

If you've been feeling stuck, heavy, or like you're carrying everyone else's season along with your own, maybe this is your cue to soften and let something new grow.

What is your body battery telling you?!

What is your body battery telling you?!

If only our bodies came with a battery percentage. 🔋

Some days leave us feeling fully charged.

Others... not so much.

Some people might not think about Bowen Therapy until they're running on empty.

But it doesn't have to be that way.

Looking after your body before your battery is critically low is a habit worth building.

💚 MONDAY LYMPHIE CHECK-IN 💚

Good morning, Lymphies! ☀️💧

Before the coffee…

Just noticing how you feel today. 💚

Your tiny Monday self-care checklist:

💧 Hydrate according to your body’s needs
🫁 Take a few slow, comfortable breaths
🚶‍♀️ Add a little gentle movement when you can
🥗 Nourish your body
💚 And remember that caring for yourself doesn’t have to be complicated.

We’re starting the week together. 🥰

BOWEN BASICS #2 — What happens during a Bowen session?

If you've never experienced Bowen Therapy before, you might be wondering what actually happens when you come in for a session.

Your Bowen session is a gentle, relaxed experience.

You’ll remain comfortably clothed while I use a series of gentle, precise movements over specific areas of the body.

Between movements, there are short pauses. These pauses are an important part of Bowen, allowing you to relax and giving your body time to respond.
There’s no forceful manipulation, cracking or deep massage.

✨ Just gentle touch
✨ Quiet moments
✨ Time to breathe
✨ And space for your body to respond

Every body is different, so every Bowen session is tailored to you and what your body is presenting with on the day.

Sometimes, doing less really can be more.

Have you ever wondered what a Bowen session actually feels like?

That deep sigh… 🤍

You know the one.

The moment a client settles onto the table, the room becomes quiet… and suddenly you hear that deep, long exhale.

That little sigh can be the moment the body says:

“Okay… I’m safe here.”
The shoulders soften.
The jaw unclenches.
The breathing slows.
The body begins to let go.

For me, that moment is one of the most beautiful parts of what I do.

Because sometimes, before we can work on the physical body, we simply need to create a space where someone feels safe enough to completely relax.

No expectations.
No judgement.
No need to be “on”.

Just a little time to breathe, be held in a peaceful space, and allow your body to do what it knows how to do.

And that deep sigh?

I hear it. 🤍

A little reminder for the caregivers… 💜

Who looks after you?

You do.

Your body, your health, your energy and your wellbeing deserve the same care you so freely give to everyone else.

Eat well. Move. Rest. Breathe. Ask for help. Take time for yourself.

You are worth looking after too.

✨ When was the last time you did something just for YOU?

If the answer is “I can’t remember” — maybe that’s your sign. 💜

🩷 LYMPHIES… PUT YOUR LEGS UP! 🦵⬆️

No, seriously. 😄

Find a wall.
Grab a pillow.
Get comfortable.

Because sometimes one of the nicest things you can do after a long day on your feet is simply…

✨ LET GRAVITY HELP. ✨

You may have seen the “Legs Up the Wall” position all over social media — but what is actually happening inside your body?

🧬 LET’S TALK SCIENCE!

When you spend hours sitting or standing upright, gravity encourages fluid and blood to spend more time in the lower parts of the body.

Your veins and lymphatic vessels have mechanisms that help move fluid back toward the trunk, while your muscles — especially those in your legs — contribute through movement and contraction.

Now change your position. 👀

When your legs are elevated, gravity is no longer working against that upward return in quite the same way.

That may temporarily help with:

💧 VENOUS RETURN
Elevation can assist blood returning from the legs toward the heart.

🦵 THAT “HEAVY LEGS” FEELING
After lots of standing, walking or sitting, some people simply find elevation wonderfully comfortable.

🌿 FLUID DISTRIBUTION
Changing position can influence how fluid is distributed through the tissues. This does not mean you are “draining toxins” or magically emptying your lymphatic system.

🫁 RELAXATION + BREATHING
If you’re comfortable, use the position for a few minutes of slow diaphragmatic breathing. Your diaphragm and normal body movement are part of the mechanisms that support lymph movement.

😴 A LITTLE NERVOUS-SYSTEM QUIET TIME
A comfortable, supported position combined with slow breathing can also be a lovely opportunity to unwind after a busy day.

🩷 TRY OUR GENTLE LYMPHIE VERSION

Lie comfortably on your back and elevate your legs against a wall — or simply rest them on a couch or pillows if that feels better.

Then:

✨ Relax your shoulders
✨ Unclench your jaw
✨ Breathe slowly into your abdomen
✨ Gently pump your ankles a few times
✨ Wiggle those toes
✨ And give yourself a few quiet minutes

There is no magic number of minutes required. Comfort matters more than chasing a social-media rule.

And Lymphies… higher is NOT always better. 😂
We are supporting the body, not auditioning for Cirque du Soleil. 🤸‍♀️

🚨 IMPORTANT

Leg elevation is a general wellness/comfort strategy — it is not a treatment for lymphedema, blood clots, heart/kidney-related swelling or unexplained persistent swelling.

If one leg suddenly becomes swollen, painful, red or warm, or you develop chest pain or shortness of breath, please seek urgent medical care rather than trying to manage it with elevation.

If you have a diagnosed medical condition affecting your circulation, heart, kidneys or lymphatic system, follow the positioning/elevation advice given by your healthcare professional.

🩷 LYMPHIE CHECK-IN!

Have you ever put your legs up after a long day and thought…

“OH WOW… I needed that!” 😮‍💨😂

What is your lymphatic system actually doing?

We hear the word “lymphatic” a lot… but what does it actually mean?

Your lymphatic system is a network throughout your body that helps move fluid, waste and other substances through your tissues and back into circulation.

Unlike your blood circulation, your lymphatic system doesn't have a heart pumping it around.
It relies on things like movement, muscle contractions, breathing and body movement to help keep lymph flowing.

When lymph flow becomes sluggish, some people may notice things like:

✨ Puffiness or swelling
✨ A feeling of heaviness
✨ Fluid retention
✨ Congestion
✨ Feeling generally “sluggish”

This is one of the reasons I love working with the lymphatic system.

The Chelsey Jean Lymphatic Massage Sequence uses gentle, flowing techniques designed to support lymphatic movement and encourage your body’s natural processes.

Sometimes your body doesn't need you to push harder.
Sometimes it needs a little support to flow better.

If you're curious about lymphatic massage, feel free to send me a message.
