๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’›โค๏ธ What a great week of netball at Argana Park! ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’›โค๏ธ
โ€‹This past week was the 2026 Reconciliation Round. National Reconciliation Week is a time for all of us to learn about our shared histories and cultures, and to reflect on how we can contribute to reconciliation. The official theme for 2026 is "All In," calling for everyone to take action to create changeโ€”and our local netball community definitely went "All In"!
โ€‹Across Wednesday night for the seniors and last night for the juniors, it was a memorable week. A few highlights:
โ€‹โœจ Our Sponsorship: I'm proud that Northern Assist Care In Home Support Pty Ltd was able to sponsor the Eastern Park Netball Club. Our sponsorship helped bring a talented player's artwork to life on the custom player bibs for this round.
โ€‹โœจ Smithfield Netball Club did a fantastic job bringing the community together across so many games. From the Welcome to Country and moving Smoking Ceremony led by Elders, to the beautifully designed match balls, it was a great effort to honor First Nations culture. Their player-designed dresses were also incredible!
โ€‹โœจ Best on Ground: Across all the matches played this week, medals were awarded to one Best on Ground player for each side. It was a really special moment seeing my daughter take home the medal for Eastern Park in her game. Very proud of her effort.
โ€‹Such a wonderful week of netball and community respect. Well done to everyone involved! ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’›โค๏ธ

About the Qantas Carer Concession:

Too often we are seeing statistics re unregistered providers- I seen yesterday a status quoting that only 4 percent of unregistered providers have workers with their NDIS worker clearances and other certifications and qualifications that NDIS registered providers need to have in place.
At Northern Assist Care, all of our workers have their NDIS worker clearances so we must part of that 4% (but hey, we all know how true the internet is baha).
We also ensure each of our workers have the following as the bare minimum;
- Cert 3 in Individual Support or equivalent
- Working with children's DCSI check
- NDIS Code of Conduct
- PPE
- First Aid Certificate
- Manual Handling Certificate
- CPR done annually
- Medication Administration
- Responding to neglect and abuse
Lots of times workers can have all of the above, but the most important thing that no certificate or qualification can provide is the time and experiences spent out in the field throughout the years, which mould each person into the wonderful supportive employees possible.
I am beyond proud of the wonderful team we have and believe we have some of the best supports in the northern suburbs, but know there are lots of other good supports and people in this industry out this way too.
Every one has their own opinions and experiences though, & sometimes what works for one individual definitely does not work for another.
Wishing you all a wonderful day ๐Ÿ˜Šโค๏ธ๐Ÿ˜Š
