We are so excited to introduce Esta and Jennifer, our wonderful Allied Health Therapy Assistants, who are now welcoming new families.

Working under the clinical supervision of our Developmental Educator and Psychologists, they provide practical, strengths-based support that helps children build confidence, independence and everyday skills across home, school, community and clinic settings.

๐Ÿ’œ Meet Esta
With a Diploma of Community Services and a Certificate in Education Support, Esta has extensive experience supporting children with diverse learning, behavioural and social-emotional needs. She works alongside families to implement therapy strategies in everyday environments, helping children develop the skills they need to thrive.

๐ŸŒฟ Meet Jennifer
Many of our families already know Jennifer as one of our Holistic Counsellors. We are excited that she is now expanding her role to also provide Allied Health Therapy Assistant services.

With more than 10 years' experience in early childhood development and education, Jennifer brings a calm, nurturing approach to supporting children. Drawing on counselling-informed principles and nature-based experiences, she helps children feel safe, connected and confident while implementing therapy strategies that build emotional regulation, independence and everyday life skills.

Our Therapy Assistants can support children with:
๐Ÿซ School engagement and transitions
๐Ÿงฉ Therapy strategy implementation
๐Ÿ” Classroom and environmental observations
๐ŸŒฑ Skill development and community participation

๐Ÿ“ Support available in clinic (Emerald), at home, in schools and within the community.

๐Ÿ“… Availability
Jennifer: Mondays & Wednesdays (Outreach within a 20-minute drive of Emerald)
Esta: Wednesdays, Thursdays & Fridays (Outreach across the Cardinia and Yarra Ranges Shires)

โœจ What is an Allied Health Therapy Assistant?
Therapy Assistants work under the direction and supervision of our clinicians to implement individualised therapy plans in everyday environments. This allows children to practise and generalise skills more consistently across home, school and the community while families receive a cost-effective extension of their therapy supports.

๐Ÿ“ฒ Ready to get started?
Scan the QR code on the flyer to complete our self-referral form or get in touch with our team to find out whether Allied Health Therapy Assistant support is the right fit for your child.

We can't wait for you to meet them! ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’œ

Sharon is an animal-assisted psychologist who integrates therapy dogs into psychology sessions when it aligns with a child's goals and preferences. Their gentle, non-judgemental presence can support emotional regulation, reduce stress, foster connection, and help children feel safe enough to explore, communicate, and grow.

Children don't grow in isolation, and neither does their wellbeing. ๐Ÿค That's why we work alongside parents and carers, offering practical, neuroaffirming support, collaborative problem-solving, and strategies that strengthen connection at home, school, and in everyday life.

Early support can make a lifelong difference. ๐Ÿค

You don't have to "wait and see" if your child will grow out of it, work it out when they start school, or hope things improve on their own. If you've noticed your child is finding things harder than expected, it's okay to seek support early. Early intervention provides opportunities to build skills during some of the most important years of development, helping children gain confidence and participate more fully in everyday life.

Support can focus on:
โœจ Building confidence and independence
โœจ Strengthening communication and social skills
โœจ Developing emotional regulation
โœจ Supporting play, learning, and daily living skills
โœจ Helping families better understand and support their child

Every child's journey is different, and early intervention isn't about changing who they are, it's about recognising their strengths, understanding their needs, and giving them the tools and support to thrive in their own way.

Small steps taken early can create meaningful change over time. ๐Ÿ’›

Emotional regulation isn't about "stopping behaviours."

It's about helping children feel safe enough to understand, express, and navigate their big feelings. ๐Ÿค

Every behaviour is a form of communication. Rather than asking, "How do we stop this behaviour?" we ask, "What is this child telling us?"

When children feel emotionally safe, connected, and supported, they can begin to recognise their emotions, develop coping strategies, and build the skills needed to regulate over time.

Interest-based groups can be a wonderful way for children to build confidence and connection in a low-pressure environment. ๐Ÿค

When children are engaging in activities they genuinely enjoy, social interaction often feels more natural and less overwhelming. Shared interests create opportunities for conversation, teamwork, problem-solving, and friendship, without the pressure of "having to make friends."

Our therapeutic groups are thoughtfully designed to nurture:
โœจ Confidence and self-esteem
โœจ Social communication and friendships
โœจ Emotional regulation
โœจ Cooperation and teamwork
โœจ Belonging and connection

Whether your child loves LEGO, Minecraft, creative arts, nature, animals, or hands-on challenges, our groups use these interests as a bridge to meaningful learning and genuine connection.

Because sometimes the best growth happens when children are simply having fun together. ๐Ÿ’›
