When eczema keeps flaring, your skin may only be part of the picture.

For people experiencing recurring itchy, irritated or eczema-prone skin, Lucy often looks at several different pieces of the puzzle.

This can include:
- Supporting the gut and digestion
- Identifying potential food or environmental triggers
- Choosing probiotics that suit the individual
helping the digestive system better cope with foods
- Creating a personalised herbal medicine formula

Herbal medicine can be particularly valuable because the formula is tailored to your individual symptoms and what is happening in your body, rather than simply choosing a general skin supplement off the shelf.

Skin conditions can be frustrating, especially when they keep returning. Lucy’s goal is to understand the bigger picture and develop a plan that supports you from the inside out.

Not every cough is caused by mucus.
Some coughs are dry, irritating and tickly, often lingering after a virus or flaring when you talk a lot, breathe dry air or are exposed to environmental irritants.

In these cases, the goal isn’t necessarily to “bring something up” from the chest.
Instead, Lucy may focus on soothing irritated tissues, calming inflammation and reducing that overactive cough reflex.

Certain herbal medicines are traditionally used to:
✨Soothe a dry, irritated throat
✨Protect and moisturise sensitive tissues
✨Calm persistent coughing
✨Support recovery after a virus
✨Make coughing less disruptive

Herbs such as marshmallow, liquorice, mullein and aniseed can all play different roles depending on the symptoms. This is where personalised herbal medicine can be particularly useful — because a dry cough may need a very different approach to a wet, chesty cough.

Spring is a lovely time to freshen up your meals and bring a little more variety back onto the plate.

As the weather warms up, you may naturally start reaching for lighter meals, fresh salads, colourful vegetables and seasonal fruit — and that can be a great opportunity to support your overall nutrition.

Lucy often encourages clients to focus on simple foundations such as:
🌱 plenty of colourful vegetables
🌱 good quality protein
🌱 fibre-rich foods
🌱 healthy fats
🌱 enough water
🌱 regular, nourishing meals

It doesn’t need to be a dramatic “detox” or restrictive diet. Sometimes the best Spring reset is simply getting back to consistent, nourishing meals that help you feel energised and well.

Sleep isn’t a luxury—it’s one of the foundations of good health. Yet many people tell me they struggle to fall asleep, wake several times throughout the night, or wake feeling just as exhausted as when they went to bed.

Poor sleep doesn’t just affect your energy.
It can influence your mood, hormones, immune system, digestion, concentration and even the way your body responds to stress.

Rather than simply looking for something to help you sleep, it’s important to understand why your sleep has changed in the first place.

Stress, nutritional deficiencies, hormone fluctuations, blood sugar balance and lifestyle habits can all contribute.
Together we’ll look at the whole picture and create realistic, achievable strategies that support restful sleep naturally.
Imagine waking up refreshed and ready to enjoy your day again.

Let’s work together to restore healthy sleep.

Women’s health is constantly changing throughout life. From painful periods and PMS to fertility concerns, pregnancy, perimenopause and menopause, every stage brings its own challenges. Yet so many women are told their symptoms are simply “normal.”
Just because something is common doesn’t mean you have to accept it.

I work alongside women to understand what’s happening beneath the surface. Hormones, stress, nutrition, sleep, gut health and lifestyle all influence how you feel every single day.

Whether you’re experiencing heavy periods, mood swings, fatigue, hot flushes, bloating or simply don’t feel like yourself anymore, we’ll work together to develop a personalised treatment plan that supports your body naturally.

My goal isn’t simply to manage symptoms—it’s to help you feel healthier, happier and more confident in your body again.
Because every woman deserves to feel well.

I can create a plan that’s tailored specifically to you. To book 👉🏼www.lucyfrewnaturopath.com.au

Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) is far more than “bad PMS.”
PMDD is a recognised condition that can cause significant emotional and physical symptoms in the one to two weeks before a period.
Women with PMDD often experience:
• Intense irritability or anger
• Low mood or depression
• Anxiety
• Overwhelm
• Fatigue
• Difficulty concentrating
• Physical discomfort
Many women tell me they feel like a completely different person during this time each month.
The encouraging news is that there are supportive treatment options available. Individualised herbal medicine and nutritional strategies may help support mood, energy levels and hormonal balance.
If you’re struggling each month and feel like you’re constantly riding an emotional rollercoaster, know that support is available.

If you are experiencing severe depression, thoughts of self-harm, or mental health concerns, please seek immediate support from your GP or mental health professional.

One of the most common reasons people book an appointment with me is fatigue.
Not just “I’m tired” fatigue.

The kind where:
• You wake up exhausted
• Coffee isn’t helping anymore
• You hit a wall every afternoon
• You feel like you’re constantly running on empty

Fatigue can be linked to many factors including nutrient deficiencies, stress, hormonal changes, poor sleep, blood sugar imbalances and digestive issues.
Rather than simply pushing through, it’s important to understand WHY your body is struggling.
Your fatigue is a message, not a personality trait. 🌿 Let’s investigate the cause.

Did you know that herbal medicine has been used for thousands of years?
Long before modern pharmaceuticals existed, people relied on plants, herbs and natural remedies to support their health and wellbeing.
Many of today’s medications actually originated from compounds discovered in plants.
While healthcare has evolved significantly, the use of herbal medicine remains an important part of healthcare systems around the world.
Today, naturopaths combine traditional knowledge with modern research to prescribe evidence-informed herbal medicines tailored to the individual.
Natural medicine isn’t a trend.
It’s one of the oldest forms of healthcare known to humanity 🌱

Digestive Issues Are More Common Than You Think.

Bloating.
Reflux.
Constipation.
Loose stools.
Food sensitivities.

Many people experience digestive symptoms regularly and simply learn to live with them, assuming they’re just part of everyday life.
While occasional digestive discomfort can happen, ongoing symptoms may be your body’s way of signalling that something needs attention.

Your digestive system plays a vital role in:
✔️ Nutrient absorption
✔️ Hormone balance
✔️ Immune function
✔️ Energy production
✔️ Mental wellbeing
When digestion isn’t functioning optimally, it can have a ripple effect throughout the body.

As a naturopath and nutritionist, I work with clients to identify potential triggers and support healthy digestion through personalised nutrition, lifestyle strategies and evidence-informed natural medicine.
🌿 Better digestion often means better health overall.
