When a family describes the care their loved one receives as what NDIS support should look like, it is a reminder of why we do this work.

Not for the recognition, but because getting it right for the people we support is what drives everything we do.

Empathetic. Professional. Focused on the person, not the paperwork. That is what we show up to be every day, and it is what every participant and family who walks through our door deserves.

If you are looking for support that puts people first, come and talk to us.

Myth: you have to be severely disabled to qualify for the NDIS.
Reality: eligibility has nothing to do with how your disability looks from the outside.

The NDIS is designed for people with permanent and significant disability, but significant does not mean visible, obvious, or severe in the way most people assume. What matters is the functional impact. How your disability affects your ability to complete daily activities, participate in the community, and live independently.

Someone living with an intellectual disability, a psychosocial condition, chronic fatigue, or an acquired brain injury may qualify even if their support needs are not immediately apparent to others.

If you have been told you probably would not qualify, or have assumed the NDIS is not for you, it is worth having a conversation with someone who knows the scheme well.

Our team can help you understand your options at no obligation.

How do you know if an NDIS provider is actually the right fit?
It is not always easy to tell from a website.

So here are three things worth looking for before you make a decision.

1️⃣ First, do they listen before they act? A good provider does not start matching you with a support worker until they understand who you are, what your goals are, and what has and has not worked before.
2️⃣ Second, do they take the matching process seriously? The relationship between a participant and their support worker is one of the most important parts of the whole experience. A provider who just fills a vacancy is not the same as one who finds the right fit.
3️⃣ Third, are they actually available when you need them? Support needs do not follow business hours. A provider with around-the-clock availability is not a bonus. It is a baseline.

At We Care Providers these are not extras. They are how we work every single day.

A common misconception about the NDIS is that having a plan means you cannot, or should not, work.

The reality is the opposite.
Employment is one of the goals the NDIS actively supports.

Participants can work at any level, part time, casual, supported, or full time, without it affecting their NDIS plan. In fact, capacity building funding can be used to help participants build work-related skills, access transport, and develop the confidence and routines that make employment possible.

For some participants, paid work is the goal. For others, it might be volunteering, a work experience placement, or simply building toward something. All of it counts.

If employment is a goal in your NDIS plan and you are not sure how to work toward it, talk to our team about what support could look like.

Nobody warns you about the guilt.
The guilt of needing a break. The guilt of feeling frustrated. The guilt of putting your own needs last for so long that you forget what they were.

Nobody tells you how isolating it can be either. How hard it is to explain to someone who has not lived it. How often carers are the last ones to ask for help.

If you are caring for someone with a disability, you are doing one of the hardest and most important jobs there is. And you deserve support too, not just the person you are caring for.

At We Care Providers, we work with families to build flexible support plans that give everyone breathing room. Respite care, daily living support, and SIL options are all available.

Today is World MS Day, and we are thinking about the more than 33,000 Australians living with multiple sclerosis.

MS is a condition of the central nervous system that affects how the brain communicates with the rest of the body. It is unpredictable, progressive in many cases, and different for every person who lives with it. Some people experience periods of relapse and remission. Others live with symptoms that gradually change over time.

That unpredictability is one of the reasons flexible, person-centred support is so important for people living with MS.

If you or someone you support is living with MS and looking for flexible, personalised NDIS support, reach out to our team.

27/05/2026

Capacity building is an NDIS funding category designed to help participants develop skills, confidence, and connections that increase independence. The goal is not a fuller schedule of services. It is a participant who can do more on their own than they could before.

That might look like learning to manage a daily routine. Building the confidence to use public transport. Developing social connections that exist outside of a support relationship. Or working toward employment.

At We Care Providers, we keep capacity building at the centre of everything we do, because independence is always the goal. Talk to our team about how we can help you get there.

No two days are the same with a neurological condition.
Some days are good. Some are not. And support needs to be ready for both.

MS. Parkinson's disease. Acquired brain injury. Epilepsy. Motor neurone disease. Each condition is different. Each person living with it is different again.

What they all need is support that does not require them to justify a hard day. That adapts without being asked. That is consistent even when the condition is not.

At We Care Providers, we build care plans that are flexible. Because rigid support does not work for conditions that are anything but.

If you are looking for flexible, personalised neurological support, get in touch with our team.
