Peaceful and Powerful.
Thich Nhat Hanh was a brave and compassionate leader and his mindfulness teachings showed us the connection between personal, and

I was sad to hear of his passing but then remembered how he always spoke about death with such elegance and grace. He has left us with so much that my heart was quickly full of and for his time here on earth and his teachings that will help to guide future generations.

May we read his books, listen to his meditations, pass on his knowledge to our kids and grandkids and pray our future leaders learn from his peaceful and compassionate ways.

These quotes (in image) are some of my favourites and this next passage has been a great reminder for me during recent difficult times…

“We can always learn from our suffering.
In the ash of suffering a Phoenix can be born. That is why mindfulness helps us to look deeply into the difficulty and the suffering we have and many positives will come out of that.
If we know how to handle the present moment we don’t have to worry much about the future. If the present moment has peace and joy and happiness then the future will have also.”

Do you have a favourite quote, mantra or teaching you’d like to share?

Reflection, grounded in kindness. I embrace the opportunity of this moment to wash away the remnants of yesterday.

Presence, grounded in love. I embrace this new day and all that awaits me.
I am here. Right here, right now 🙏

A moment to practice a little self-acceptance…

“Let go of who you think you should be in order to be who you are. Be imperfect and have compassion for yourself. Connection is the result of authenticity” wise words from Brene Brown.

I wish I could have helped my younger self to understand this. As you may be able to tell from this image, there were regular moments of inward (and outward) criticism in my dance classes during my formative years - self-criticism that became so ingrained, I’m still working on it today.
However, there were also moments of complete freedom and joy in movement (which is also why I’m still doing it today!) and as Brene says - that’s when connection (to self) really happens!

It is through my role as a movement teacher that I hope to help you find that complete freedom of expression, connection and self- acceptance through movement.

So this week’s mantra is:
I accept myself, just as I am.
I am enough.

Before the time of the Great Separation..

Thousands of years ago, man lived in harmony with the rest of the natural world. Through what we would today call Telepathy, he communicated with animals plants and other forms of life - none of which he considered “beneath” himself, only different, with different jobs to perform. He worked side by side with earth angels and nature spirits, with whom he shared responsibility for taking care of the world.

The earth’s atmosphere was very different from what it is now, With a great deal more vegetation- supporting moisture. A tremendous variety of vegetable, fruit, seed and grain food was available. Because of such a diet, and a lack of unnatural strain, human life span was many times longer than what it is today. The killing of animals for food or “sport”was unthinkable. Man lived at peace with himself and the various life forms, whom he considered his teachers and friends.

The question I constantly ask myself is ~ How far removed, separate or broken do I feel from this connection?

Have you read this book?
I Highly recommend 💕🙏

Don’t forget, or underestimate, the power of the ripple effect - share a little love, joy and laughter and watch the light expand around you 😄💫

I’ve noticed recently, there is a conscious (and unconscious) growing suppression of joy - this is not okay. Don’t EVER step into the shadows to make others feel more comfortable.

This is a reminder that it is your unwavering birthright to find moments of joy in EVERY day!
That you were born to shine so freaking bright, unapologetically express yourself and colour your day with the brightest hues of happiness!…and your loving, bright tribe will surround you 🥰

Why is it that staring off into the distance is most always described as ‘zoning out’ , ‘gone somewhere else’ or ‘away with the fairies’ when (to me) it is the exact opposite?
When I ‘drift off’, most frequently in nature, I would describe the experience as ‘zoning in’, becoming so highly attuned and aware of the sights, sounds, smells and sensations surrounding me. In this moment, I feel like very little could get past me (and also an overwhelming sense of gratitude for my eyes and ears 💓)
It’s pure, peaceful

I highly recommend you do this more often!
And hey, if the sight before you is this good - why wouldn’t you meditate with your eyes open 😉

This magical spot is at an exquisite eco retreat overlooking the mystical and majestic Wollumbin (Mt. Warning) in the heart of the Tweed Shire NSW 💚
