To wrap up this series on RED-S: the biggest lesson is this — fuelling properly isn't the enemy of performance. It's the foundation of it.
Under-fuelling might feel like discipline in the short term, but long term it costs you the exact things you're training for: strength, endurance, consistency, and health.
A few starting points if you've recognised yourself anywhere in this series:
✅ Notice the signs early — fatigue, cycle changes, recurrent injury, and mood shifts are data, not weakness
✅ Match your fuelling to your training, especially around long sessions
✅ Don't fear carbs, salt, or electrolytes — endurance athletes need all three
✅ Get support rather than guessing — RED-S recovery is individual
Fuelling on the move is something I'm genuinely passionate about — it's actually part of why I'm developing some new products specifically for endurance athletes, launching next year. More on that soon. 👀
For now — if this series has made you rethink your training and fuelling, that's exactly the point. Reach out if you want a proper look at your own energy availability and health picture.
