HomeCaring, a NDIS registered provider, is a team of home care professionals that is dedicated to offering comprehensive and compassionate care in disability, aged care, and dementia care, as well as helpful support services, to all clients who come to rely on us.
We are looking for responsible, responsive and committed Aged Care/ Community Support Worker for a client in Frankston. Preferably own a car and can drive. Vietnamese speaking is a plus but not necessary.
Essential Selection Criteria:
NDIS Clearance (NDIS Worker Screening Check)
First Aid certificate or the willingness to get one within the on boarding stage
Current Australian Police Check
Current Working with Children Check (employee)
Drivers License
Flexibility to work within a service that provides 24/7 care, this includes weekend work, sleepover and or active night shifts within a fortnightly roster.
Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care, Health Services
We welcome candidates with voluntary, unpaid, proven work place based or lived experience as a support worker/carer
Support Workers are to provide the following services:
Personal Care: Provide assistance/standby assistance with daily self-care, such as bathing, toileting, dressing, grooming, getting in and out of bed, moving around the house and/or medication prompting;
Domestic Assistance: Provide assistance with domestic chores, including assistance with light
cleaning, dishwashing and/or laundry. May also include help with meal preparation where this is not the primary focus of the service;
Transport: To assists clients to/from appointments, assistance with getting in and out of vehicle and/or social activities
Social Support: In home or outside the home to access community facilities. This service generally aims to maintain a client’s community connection and fulfil the need for social interaction;
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
Provide support to clients in areas such as; personal care, domestic assistance, social support,
transport activity and meal prep, whilst maintaining an appropriate professional manner at all times.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Home and Community Support Workers assists clients, to maintain and increase their independence and assist them to live as valued and participating members of the community.
1. Provide a high quality and timely care support to all clients as directed by Home Caring
2. Document service activities that support service outcomes
3. Assist clients in carrying out all self-care tasks as requested
4. Provide transport for medical and social appointments &/or shopping
5. Providing services in culturally appropriate manner
6. Ensure relevant food handling regulations are adhered to and Work Health and Safety (WH&S) standards are met when providing meal preparation services
7. Provide support to the review and evaluation of aged care and disability services
8. Availability and flexibility to work over a 7 day, 24 hour roster period including mornings, evenings, weekends and sleepovers and serious commitment
Remuneration commensurate with experience and qualification.
