The conversations I'm having with schools are changing.
A few years ago, most enquiries were about 'healthy' eating, lunchboxes, sugar, and nutrients.
Today, more schools are asking how we can help young people navigate the overwhelming amount of nutrition information they're exposed to every day.
Social media.
Food trends.
Fitness culture.
Influencers.
Conflicting advice.
It's no wonder many young people feel confused about what eating "well" is supposed to look like.
As a nutritionist, one of the things I love talking about isn't just nutrients and healthy habits. It's helping young people think critically about the messages they're receiving and build confidence around food choices.
Because nutrition isn't just about what we eat.
It's also about how we think, feel, and talk about food.
Food should be nourishing.
Food should be enjoyable.
Food should bring people together.
And most importantly, food shouldn't be something we fear.
I'd love to know... What is one food rule or nutrition belief you grew up with that you've since challenged?
