Our Veteran’s Haven have teamed up with a fantastic local buisness 11 Acre Farm to sell some of the creations made by our Veterans and First Responders. This is an exciting collaboration with a local community focussed business that will help fund the Our Veteran’s Haven programs so they remain free to those who serve.

Check out the range of hand made pens, cheese boards and cheese knives, plus much more at 11 Acre Farm. Perfect options for a Father’s Day gift.
The coffee, food and vibe at 11 Acre Farm is first rate too.

WOOD TURNING AT OUR VETERAN’s HAVEN

Wood turning at OVH is not just about transforming a stick or log into a masterpiece. It symbolises transforming a block of wood, that no longer grows as a tree, and giving it renewed purpose, revealing its lifelines, blemishes and beauty that it has grown in its past life. This too is like renewing our purpose after the intensity of Service life.

PLUS it is fun, engaging, relaxing and for some of us a little addictive (albeit a healthy addiction).

We have been turning pens, cheese knives, bowls, spurtles and much more. Check out the video.

We have six lathes at OVH and a fully kitted out workshop. We are blessed to have a master teacher in Scarfe and support of RSL WA Active for some classes.

A Massive Thank You!
Last night's Christmas in July Bonfire at Our Veterans Haven was nothing short of magical... and what a wonderful way to celebrate my birthday!
A huge thank you to everyone who came along, shared a laugh, told a story, and made the evening so special. Sitting around the bonfire, surrounded by friends, with the forest beautifully lit up by the firelight, created one of those moments you wish could last forever. The conversations, the laughter, and the sense of belonging reminded me exactly why the Haven exists.
A very special thank you goes to Jo Jo, who once again outdid herself with an amazing feast. You never let anyone go hungry, and your generosity and care are such a big part of what makes the Haven feel like home.
Thank you also to everyone who spoiled me with birthday presents. I was genuinely touched by your kindness and generosity. I appreciate every single one of you more than you know.
A big welcome to our newest Haven member, Glenn! We're thrilled to have you join our tribe. And yes mate... I owe you a Haven T-shirt! 😄
Looking around the fire last night, I couldn't help but think how lucky we are. We've built something really special—a welcoming tribe of genuinely good people who care for one another, support each other, and know how to enjoy life's simple moments together.
I had an absolute ball, and judging by the smiles around the fire, I think everyone else did too.
I reckon we should definitely do it again... who's in?

CREATING WITH WOOD AT OUR VETERAN’s HAVEN

The team at OVH has been really getting into the Wood Turning and wood working.

Some of us have found a joy in the process of creating from wood. It is sensory with sight, smell and touch all part of revealing a creation from wood. Some of are a little surprised how much wood grain, chatoyancy and spalting can be exiting. At least it is a healthy addiction. 😂

We have a wonderful teacher in Scarfe who has a few prodigies in the making.

Here are some of the creations that have been made in the last 4 weeks, including pens, vases, emu egg stands, cheese knives, bowls and platters.
