One thing nobody warned me about during menopause?
The puffiness.
Not just in my face, but that feeling of holding onto things… fluid, tension, stress. Waking up some mornings and looking in the mirror thinking, “Where did that come from?”
I expected hot flushes.
I expected mood changes.
I didn’t expect to feel like my body was moving differently, responding differently and asking for a different kind of care.
Over time, I’ve learned that fighting against it only creates more tension and heightens my cortisol levels 😅
So instead, I’ve started giving myself a few quiet minutes each morning.
A few drops of Meno-Peace Comfort Oil and a gentle lymph massage around my face, neck and collarbone area (see the image above for the massage pattern).
Nothing complicated.
Nothing forceful.
Just soft, feather-light movements and a moment to check in with myself before the day begins. And just before the day ends.
And while I can’t tell you it’s changed menopause itself, I can tell you it’s changed how I feel.
Less rushed.
Less tense.
Less puffy.
More connected to myself.
It’s become one of those little rituals that reminds me that caring for myself isn’t selfish, it’s necessary. It’s self-full.
Because at this stage of life, I’ve realised that feeling good in my own skin matters far more than looking a certain way.
