For over 40 years, we have been providing the Forster Tuncurry with effective physiotherapy treatments for all kinds of pain and injury.

Musculoskeletal physiotherapy encompasses a wide range of body parts and conditions. “Musculo” refers to the muscles, while “skeletal” refers to bones and joints, as well as the tendons and tissues in between, with conditions including:

Matthaus is consulting with eligible patients under the direct supervision of our Senior Physiotherapist and Clinic Director, Reyne Black, ensuring you receive high-quality care while helping train the next generation of physiotherapists.

🎓Reduced Consultation Fee of $65
These appointments are eligible for Private Health Fund rebates (depending on your level of cover), making them a great value option.

If you’ve been referred by your GP under a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan (formerly EPC), your appointment with Matthaus is fully bulk billed, meaning there is no out-of-pocket cost to you.

Please note: Medicare allows up to 5 allied health visits per calendar year, shared across all eligible allied health providers such as physiotherapy, podiatry, chiropractic, osteopathy, occupational therapy and dietetics. If you have already used your five visits since January 2026, standard fees will apply.

Shoulder care 💪

Our Clinic Director & Senior Physiotherapist, Reyne, was back in the learning zone on Monday, attending a one-day workshop hosted by The University of Newcastle, Australia Department of Rural Health in Taree.

‘The Complete Shoulder’ was led by highly experienced musculoskeletal physiotherapist and shoulder pain researcher Dr Jared Powell PhD, the course focused on using the best available evidence to navigate the often-messy reality of shoulder pain and help clinicians make better decisions for individual patients.

The workshop covered:
💪🏼 Rotator cuff pathology without myths
🔎 Getting the patient interview and physical examination right
🩻 Imaging and special tests: how to use them properly
💉 Making informed treatment decisions: surgery, injections or exercise?

We’re incredibly grateful for UON bringing high-quality professional opportunities like this to our region. This is a huge benefit for our profession, and ultimately, the patients we care for.

🗺️ The Wings For Life World Run is not what you may be used to from other races. It starts all over the globe at the exact same time; 9pm in Sydney, 12pm in London, 8pm in Japan, and so on. There is also no traditional finish line. Instead, a moving finish line called the Catcher Car pursues you!

🚗You can register to run against a real Catcher Car at a Flagship Run or against the Virtual Catcher Car of the Wings for Life World Run App. When the Catcher Car passes you, your race is over, and the distance you achieved appears on the Global Result List.

🏁 The race begins at 9.00pm, and we will be meeting at the Bull Ring in Forster. Everyone is invited to join us at 7:30-8 for a sausage sizzle and BYO few beverages prior to the race.
