💙 Bowel Cancer Awareness Month 💙

Bowel cancer can affect anyone, and our mob can get bowel cancer at a younger age than many other Australians. That is why getting checked early is so important.

If you are 45 years or older, you may be able to get a free bowel screening test that you can do at home.

The test is simple, private, and free. It could help find bowel cancer early, before you feel sick.

Looking after your health helps you stay strong for yourself, your family, your Elders, and your community.

If you need help getting a test kit, or you are not sure what to do, come and have a yarn with our team.

Strong people get checked. Strong families look after each other. Strong communities stay healthy.

Yelling, abuse, threats or aggressive behaviour towards staff or other patients is not okay and will not be accepted.

We understand people can feel upset or frustrated, but everyone deserves to feel safe at our services.

Vaccination is the best protection from severe illness, and adults may need a booster.

Free vaccines are available in many areas. Have a yarn with your clinic. Check what’s right for you and your family.

You can yarn with our health workers, nurses or doctors about anything.

It is private.

If you are worried about your body or your health, we can help you get checked.

We can help with things like diabetes, heart health, kidney health, sexual health, blood pressure and general health worries.

Some checks can be done at the clinic and may only need a quick finger prick, urine test, swab or blood test.

No shame. No judgement. Just support.
