Iโ€™ve been eating a lot of toast recently and itโ€™s got me thinking.
Not in a judgmental way. Justโ€ฆnoticing.
Noticing that I no longer feel like salads & smoothies.
That getting out for a gentle walk feels far more appealing than getting up early for the gym.
That curling up under a blanket sounds infinitely more nourishing than squeezing one more thing into my day.
And then it hit me. Itโ€™s winter โ„๏ธ โฃ
It sounds obvious, but itโ€™s easy to forget.
Even after years of studying humans & health, I still catch myself wondering whether my body is doing something โ€œwrong.
Am I losing motivation? Am I โ€œoff trackโ€?
Then I remember
My nervous system doesnโ€™t experience winter as a productivity challenge. It experiences it as a season.
For thousands of years, our bodies have adapted to shorter days and colder weather by conserving energy, seeking warmth and craving foods that feel more substantial.
It wasnโ€™t a flaw. It was wisdom.
We donโ€™t judge the trees for losing their leaves.
We donโ€™t expect flowers to bloom in the middle of a cold snap.
Many animals adapt to winter by seeking warmth, conserving energy and eating more.
Adaptation isnโ€™t weakness. Itโ€™s wisdom.
Yet somehow weโ€™ve decided that humans should maintain the same energy, the same appetite and productivity all year round.
And when we donโ€™tโ€ฆwe assume weโ€™ve failed.
Maybe the problem isnโ€™t that weโ€™ve forgotten the seasons. Maybe weโ€™ve forgotten weโ€™re part of nature too.
I often talk about listening to your body, but the truth is thatโ€™s incredibly difficult when youโ€™ve spent years learning to override it.
Ignore your hunger. โฃ Push through your tired.
Treat every craving as a lack of discipline instead of asking what it might be trying to tell you.
So this week, instead of trying to โ€œget back on trackโ€, Iโ€™ve been trying something else.
So in case you need it too, hereโ€™s a permission slip ๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ to stop expecting yourself to live as though itโ€™s always summer.
Take a break. Eat a soup. Snuggle for a bit longer.
The heat will be back before you know it.
Big love,

I sat in a room full of women & felt something I havenโ€™t in a long time.โฃ Completely at ease.
Natalia shared a quote Iโ€™d heard years ago & used to say often myself:โฃ
โ€œThe way you do ๐˜ด๐˜ฐ๐˜ฎ๐˜ฆ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜จ is the way you do ๐˜ฆ๐˜ท๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ๐˜บ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜จ.
Back then I used to say:โฃ
โฃโ€The way you do ๐˜ง๐˜ฐ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฅ is the way you do ๐˜ญ๐˜ช๐˜ง๐˜ฆ.
As I sat there, I couldnโ€™t help noticing how these women were doing life.
There was singing.โฃ Creativity.โฃ Storytelling.โฃ Laughter.โฃ Vulnerability.
But what struck me most wasnโ€™t what we were doing. It was how we were being.
Nobody was trying to impress anyone.
Nobody seemed concerned with being the smartest, prettiest, funniest or most accomplished woman in the room.
Everyone arrived in their own way.
Their own style - ugg boots were celebrated!
โฃTheir own voice.
โฃTheir own beautiful awkwardness.
And somehow that created something I donโ€™t experience nearly enough as an adult woman:โฃ
โฃI didnโ€™t feel judged.โฃ Not once.
I looked around the room & saw women being brave enough to sing when they werenโ€™t singers.
To share when they didnโ€™t have the perfect words.
To create without needing to be good at it.
To simply show up as themselves.
And I found myself wonderingโ€ฆโฃ Why does that feel so rare?
Why are so many spaces for women quietly filled with comparison, performance & self-consciousness?
Why do so many of us arrive already braced for judgement?
Because for a few hours on Sunday, none of that existed.
And maybe thatโ€™s why I left feeling so nourished.
Not because I learned something new or had a breakthrough.
But because I got to experience what happens when women stop performing & start being.
I think we need more of that.
Especially now when โ€œIโ€™m goodโ€ often means โ€œIโ€™m coping.
Maybe what weโ€™re hungry for isnโ€™t more self-improvement.
Maybe itโ€™s spaces where we can put the armour down & remember who we are underneath it.
Just a thought

Today wasnโ€™t a โ€œgoodโ€ day.
It was a long, full, slightly frayed kind of day.
And then I took Poppy to the park.
No plan. No intention to โ€œshift my stateโ€, in fact, I hadnโ€™t even considered I needed shifting.
Just taking one step in front of the other to the swings. Fresh air, trees, and her little body against mine.
And somewhere in between the swings and the wishing tree
my nervous system caught up with me.
Not because I did something productive.
But because I stopped trying to.
I think we underestimate how powerful
simple, present moments are.

It might not look impressive, but today for me, โฃ
It changed everything.

Youโ€™re not broken.

And youโ€™re probably not doing anything wrong.

But if youโ€™re constantly thinking about yourselfโ€ฆ
tracking, reflecting, adjusting, improvingโ€ฆ

thereโ€™s a point where it stops being helpful.

And starts pulling you further away from your life.

Iโ€™ve lived that.

Built a career inside it.

And I see it all the time in the people I work with โ€” the ones who are self-aware, responsible, and deeply committed to growth.

They donโ€™t need more tools.

They need a way out of the loop.

A return to what actually nourishes them.

Not performatively.
Not perfectly.

But in a way that lets them live.

This is the shift Iโ€™m moving into now โ€” and what Iโ€™m starting to create.

If youโ€™re in that space too, youโ€™ll feel it ๐Ÿ”ฅ

For years Iโ€™ve talked about the relationship between food (what we eat) and emotional wellbeing (how we feel) โฃ
Never in a restrictive โ€˜fix yourselfโ€™ way,โฃ
Always in a curious, compassionate way.
Over the years, my work has expanded far beyond nutrition, True nourishment = all the pieces of the puzzle that make you, truly YOU.
Thatโ€™s why I was excited when shared an article exploring the relationship between diet quality, emotion regulation and mental health symptoms.
Want to know one of the most interesting findings?
Diet didnโ€™t appear to influence symptoms directly.
Instead, diet influenced emotion regulation - and emotion regulation influenced symptom severity.
Put simply:
Researchers found that lower quality diets and lower intake of Omega-3 rich foods were associated with greater emotional deregulation, which predicted more severe symptoms.
This doesnโ€™t mean nutrition = the cure for mental health challenges.
But it does suggest something many holistic practitioners have long suspected:
The brain is an organ - and like every organ, it depends on nutrients to function.
Over time my understanding of nourishment has evolved (and evolved again). True nourishment is diet and
Itโ€™s sleepโฃ
Connection
Safety
Movement
Meaning
Rest
When these things work together, our system has more capacity to regulate emotion and meet life.
What I love about research like this is that it opens the door to ๐˜€๐˜‚๐—ฝ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐˜๐—ถ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ, ๐—ถ๐—ป๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ด๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—ฎ๐—ฝ๐—ฝ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ต๐—ฒ๐˜€ ๐˜๐—ผ ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—น๐˜๐—ต - not only therapy, not only medication, but the full ecosystem that supports us.
Food wonโ€™t solve everything, but a nourished nervous system has more capacity to meet life.

For as long as I can remember, Iโ€™ve wanted something โ€” someone โ€” to take care of.
When I was little, Iโ€™d sneak our farm dog into bed just so I could look after him.
Iโ€™d โ€˜rescueโ€™ all kinds of native animals from their natural habitat just so that I could shower them with my motherly love.
Iโ€™d feed my baby doll with a bottle, change her nappy, and push her around in a stroller like it was my lifeโ€™s purpose.
That instinct โ€” that deep, maternal pull โ€” has always lived in me.
But my thirties were full of longing.
So much wanting.
So many twists and turns trying to find my way here.
And now here I am โ€” Poppyโ€™s perfect soft little legs resting on mine, sunlight on our skin, our toes in the water.
Whatโ€™s surprised me most about motherhood is how steady I feel.
How healing this has been for my anxiety โ€” something thatโ€™s been around my entire life.
I thought motherhood would amplify it.
The sleepless nights,
the extra responsibility, โฃ
the pressure on our marriage,โฃ
the messiness,โฃ
all of the unknowns.
All of those exist for sure, but instead of increasing my anxious thoughts, being Poppyโ€™s Mum has softened me.
Whether itโ€™s the happy hormones from breastfeeding or the one million contact naps that force me to slow down and do just one important thing at a time โ€” whatever it is, itโ€™s working better than any anxiety remedy Iโ€™ve tried before.
Being this present, this still, has re-trained my nervous system.
Itโ€™s reminded me that peace isnโ€™t something I have to earn.
Itโ€™s what happens when I finally stop rushing.
If youโ€™re in a season of anxiety, maybe the question isnโ€™t how do I fix it?
Maybe itโ€™s ๐˜ฉ๐˜ฐ๐˜ธ ๐˜ค๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ๐˜ญ๐˜ฅ ๐˜ ๐˜ด๐˜ญ๐˜ฐ๐˜ธ ๐˜ฅ๐˜ฐ๐˜ธ๐˜ฏ โ€” even just a little?

Lately Iโ€™ve been feeling a little lost. Stuck between pregnancy and motherhood, unsure how to reclaim even a tiny bit of attention for myself.
Working + IVF + moving house twice + pregnancy + birth + anxiety + holding it all together โ†’ it burned me out.
And since Poppy arrived, my attention has been 100% on her. Her needs. Her health. Her happiness. Our little family is my dream come true ๐ŸŒธ โ€” but I realised over the weekend (through some tough convos with my husband)โ€ฆ that doesnโ€™t mean ๐˜ ๐˜ฅ๐˜ช๐˜ด๐˜ข๐˜ฑ๐˜ฑ๐˜ฆ๐˜ข๐˜ณ.

So this morning, I decided to start differently. I put Poppy down for 15 minutes, pressed play on a summer playlist (even though it was raining), and let my body move.
At first, it felt silly. But soon, I felt myself come back to life. I remembered all the times I danced in the sunshine at festivals and concerts. I remembered
๐Ÿ’Œ I share this as a permission slip:โฃ
If youโ€™ve lost yourself in taking care of everyone elseโ€ฆโฃ
If youโ€™ve been spiraling in control modeโ€ฆโฃ

๐Ÿ‘‰ Put on one song. Let your body move.
๐Ÿ‘‰ See what happens next.

Hospitals, bright lights, beeping machines, decisions I never expected to have to make.

But nowโ€ฆ weโ€™re home.
And home has never felt safer.

The bubble weโ€™re inโ€ฆ full of raw, teary, smiley, messy, sacred beauty.
And honestly โ€” I donโ€™t think anything prepares you for the magnitude of this experience.
From the beginning of our desire, the mental, the physical, the emotional distraction of it all. The let downs and the letting go.
The miscarriages. The IVF. The wait. The endless wait.
Then pregnancy, then birth, then travelling home.
The trust of self and love thatโ€™s required to withstand all of this is immense, not to mention the never ending layers of surrender.

these past few weeks have felt like a slow unfolding.
a softening.
a stretch.
a surrender.
Iโ€™ve been sitting inside the quiet hum of changeโ€”โฃ
baby clothes washed, folded and put away,โฃ
meals in the freezer,โฃ
the nursery coming together,โฃ
love notes and well wishes from the baby shower fresh in my heart.
we are getting ready.
not just to meet herโ€ฆโฃ
but to become something new.
and so,โฃ
Iโ€™m stepping away from work nowโฃ
for the next while.
(at least a month)โฃ
no sessions.
no emails.
no planning for whatโ€™s next.
just presence.
just trust.
just the sacred rhythm of becoming a family.
if youโ€™re in a season of change tooโ€”โฃ
one that asks you to rest,โฃ
to release,โฃ
to trust something unseenโ€”โฃ
know this:โฃ

thank you for walking this journey with me.
Iโ€™ll be back when the time is right,โฃ
with stories to shareโฃ
and a new little soul finally in my arms.
biggest love,โฃ
