June is Bowel Cancer Awareness Month
If you are 45 yrs old+ start your 2 yearly bowel cancer screening test

The following are signs and symptoms linked to bowel cancer. If you notice any of these signs and symptoms don’t delay speaking to a doctor about your concerns.

Persistent change in bowel habit
Blood in bowel movement
Unexplained weight loss
Severe abdominal pain
Risk Factors
The following risk factor can influence your chances of having bowel cancer.

Age

The risk of bowel cancer rises sharply and progressively from the age of 50. However, people under the age of 50 should still be aware of the symptoms and should seek medical advice if they notice any changes. 14,962 Australians are told they have bowel cancer each year, including 1,313 people under the age of 50.
