🏆 A very proud moment for Alex and Above & Beyond Disability Support Services! 🏆

Anyone who knows Alex knows that he would never share something like this about himself… so I’m taking the opportunity to do it for him! ❤️

Earlier this month, Alex, Director of Above & Beyond Disability Support Services, was incredibly honoured to receive "The Most Outstanding Contribution by a Young Person in Australia in 2026” award at the Australian Enablement Awards.

This is a national award, recognising the contribution Alex has made within the disability sector and the work he continues to do advocating for, supporting and empowering people from all walks of life.

Those of us who work alongside Alex see the passion, determination and countless hours he puts into AAB, our participants, our team and the wider community. Much of what he does happens quietly behind the scenes, without any expectation of recognition, which makes seeing him receive an award like this even more special.

And incredibly, the journey may not end here! 🌏

Each winner from the Australian Awards is given the opportunity to be nominated for the Global Awards, being held in London later this year. 🇬🇧

Regardless of what happens next, this is already an achievement worth celebrating.

We are all incredibly proud of you, Alex, and everything you continue to achieve. You’ve built Above & Beyond around a genuine belief that people deserve to be heard, supported and given every opportunity to thrive — and this recognition is a reflection of that commitment.

🌟 We couldn’t be prouder of you, Tee! 🌟

Above & Beyond are absolutely thrilled to celebrate one of our amazing participants, Tee, for taking a huge step outside her comfort zone and overcoming her anxiety to attend the Twilight Markets in Toowoomba! 💪💖

Tee not only made it along, but proudly set up and ran her very own stall selling clothing and accessories, what an incredible achievement! 🛍️✨

This is such a fantastic example of setting a goal, facing your fears and making it happen. One goal down, and the next one is already set and ready to go! 🎯

In just a month’s time, Tee will be heading along to the next Endless Edit Market, and we can’t wait to see her continue to grow in confidence and smash another goal. 🙌

Last week we had the privilege of attending several NAIDOC Week events, and I left each one feeling incredibly grateful to be part of such meaningful celebrations.

It was inspiring to see our communities come together to celebrate the rich cultures, histories, achievements, and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The sense of connection, respect, and community spirit at each event was truly heartwarming.

A huge thank you to everyone who dedicated their time and effort to organising these events. The support shown by the community was amazing, and it was wonderful to see so many people coming together to learn, celebrate, and strengthen relationships.

At Above & Beyond Disability Support, we value inclusion, cultural respect, and creating opportunities for everyone to connect with their community. Being part of these celebrations was a reminder of how important it is to continue listening, learning, and walking together.

Thank you for welcoming us into these celebrations. We already look forward to NAIDOC Week next year.

Above & Beyond are excited to announce that we now have a brand-new SIL home available and are currently welcoming enquiries for Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Individualised Living Options (ILO) placements.

We are able to discuss a range of support ratios including 1:1, 1:2, and 1:3 supports, tailored to meet individual participant needs and goals.

In addition to SIL and ILO supports, Above & Beyond also proudly offers:
